Now I'm worried. Is Hal programmed to be able to pick up the phone and answer questions? Does he have a passion to preserve the heritage like Ned?
Does Hal have a heart and soul?

The entire concept of a successor is no laughing matter. I'm 66 and realize what I love to do - which involves every aspect of dealing with Cobras - won't be possible forever. But the question of how to pass along all the collected data, photos, letters, etc. isn't easily resolved. At the moment, there is no clear path.

It will take someone with the passion and commitment that you have for sure Ned.
You need a young "grasshopper" that is willing to do the work, learn the art and take it all in like a sponge. And you need to trust him (or her even) to have those qualities. Then you will have to have the patience to spend long hours sharing all of your knowledge with that right person.
Not an easy bill to fill, nor are they easy shoes to fill for sure!

And so be damned! Although, Evan would be a great defender of the entire legacy and the Registry for sure. Step up and meet your calling Evan!
If not Evan, then who? Nick?
I am at a loss on who can do what Ned does.

Be careful what you wish for, do you want to see 5 different angles of the same black continuation on the cover
or ...
CSX21xx - interesting history, 2 pages
CSX23xx - nice 1 page write up
CSX4206 - because there was some confusion on what to call it (then 10 pages of appraisal assumptions)
CSX24xx - owned by two different music moguls, 2 pages
etc. etc. etc.
Ok by me if he does it, your call. Speaking of covers, how about -
WORLD REGISTRY of COBRAS & GT40s
I'm good with that

Jamo, I already mentioned this was not a laughing matter. It probably shouldn't be a barfing one, either.

Ok ok...I'm going to hell.
Anyway, shame on me...he's not here at the moment to respond.
As LMH noted, you are the eternal registrar, so you'll need to stay safe. Afraid you can't drive a Cobra anymore.

NAH, don't you remember signing that SAAC version of Scientology's "Billion Year Contract" that Kopec slipped in front of you?

If it was not a conflict of interest with his current business, I'd be saying Vern, but as a dealer/broker, we then get in to that whole "Eber" thing all over again
Have to groom a young one now, just like Bob/Ed have with Vern (judging wise) while you still have a chance.

If it's going to be a young one, maybe visit the local colleges that offer automotive tech and talk to the professors / instructors and ask who their young guns are that show the passion for the old stuff. You might find a diamond in the rough. You could always offer internships to a few to see if there is any promise in them.
Just a thought...
