Default Braided Nylon Fuel and Oil Lines

I have a couple of fuel and oil lines that are currently braided steel, but after adding a fuel pressure regulator there are a couple of tight bends that don't seem to agree with the braided steel lines or the various hose ends available.

So, I've seen some black braided nylon fuel and oil hose lines and think they look kind of cool for a change. Have any of you used these lines, and can I reuse my -an hose ends on these lines?

Don't mean to beat you up, but that is far to generalized a question to answer with any degree of accuracy. The material covering the liner, be it steel braid or nylon, is only part of the equation and differs widely with different brands.

My suggestion is to pick a quality brand (aeroquip, fragola) and use their product exclusively for both fittings and hose. Each manufacturer will give bend tolerances for different hoses in their specs. You want to avoid pushing the bend limits as best you can with proper fitting selection and hose routing.

EDIT: Forgot to tell you that most fittings are not interchangeable between steel and nylon braid. Not only that, but different brands of hose and fittings should never be used together. Always use the same brand for both. I suggest downloading and looking through the fragola catalog. It's loaded with tons of information directly related to what you are looking at.

When I built my pantera a few years ago with EFI, I used these kind of fuel lines - i think from russell, although other brands make similar things. They were fine for high pressure fuel lines. I have since switched back to carb, and they are also fine for low pressure fuel lines

easy to work with - much easier to cut and attach ends than braided stainless steel lines. those can be a nightmare.

just make sure you read the details for the line you are using and be sure it is designed for fuel and for the appropriate pressure level.

They have held up about 10 yrs now with no trouble at all.

If you are planning to use in place of regular rubber hose, they are harder to get to go over hose barb fittings - less flexible than regular hose. If putting on ends (like AN fittings), then I 100% recommend.

So far as getting them to go over the barbs, I gave mine a shot of WD-40 and they went on much easier. The WD-40 evaporates quickly and had no adverse effect as my lines have been on there for over 12 years now. Never had a trace of a leak and I check all lines and connections on a regular basis.

Yep, Learned my lesson back in 87 when I roasted my Shelby Dodge. Some (like myself) just have to learn the hard way.

Now the below picture is a disheartening site. There was an Excalibur Cobra that burned here several years ago and it completely melted the whole front end and part of the dash and interior. He never checked his gas lines and they think one of them came loose when he was driving it and gas hit the hot exhaust.

That's one of the many reasons I like LPG. Doesn't drip and leak like petrol. Safety cutouts. And access flow valves.

Used Fragola on my pro street car.
EXCELLENT product. Would put same on my SPF.
