Default Shipping FE blocks from Houston, Tx to Pembina, ND

Anyone have a recommended carrier for shipping 2 iron FE blocks from Houston, Tx to Pembina, ND ? I figured strapping them to a pallet would be the best solution for shipping via truck freight.

Crate them up....trust me......

Crate 'em up and then give my buddy Matt a call. He's a freight broker and expeditor.

We ship a lot of freight out of Houston and lately are getting great rates from AAA Cooper and FedEx Freight.

Default Yrc.com

Hello, I ship several LTL loads each week and use yrc.com, go to the quote page and there is a small orange box in the upper right side of the screen, click on that, enter the weight & measurements and it will give a quote. You can have pick up at a commercial facilty or you can drop at a YRC terminal. YRC has the best rates that I have found.

I just shipped 1,120lbs. from Phila. to Vegas for 178.00

good luck, Karl

Pallet required. A layer of 3/4 plywood under the block and metal straps or hold-down bolts strongly recommended. Even for a one off shipment, most LTL (Less Than truckLoad) will give you a 70-80% discount off published rates. They will top stack so make sure your crate has 2x4 supports. Ask for a NMFC class 50 or lower rate.

Smile

yes
get some 2"x 2"s, plywood and screws to cover the blocks up.

Protect them and keep someone's eyes off them.
