Question Trying to identify this Cobra

Dear Members,

I am just beginning in the world of Cobras and trying to purchase my first one (see pictures). There are so many replicas that it is difficult to identify which one is which one when you are not an expert.
The one I am interested in is a 1965 model 427. It is in pretty good shape overall, just a few things to be rectified.

Now my main concern is the engine, which is what will make the real value of the car as per my understanding.
Could anyone assist me in identifying this car and how much it could be worth? Is this an authentic engine?

Many Thanks for your answers and looking forward to purchase my first one

Regards,

G

Isn't this the same car that was in another thread? The engine is not authentic to an original as it is a Chevy. Not that they aren't good engines, but I was guessing by authentic you meant was it the same as what came in the originals. And if this is the same car that was in the other thread, if you haven't read that thread I suggest that you do so. If it is another car and you really need help, get a person that is knowledgeable about these cars to go with you to give it a good looking over. Check the frame and everything under it, take it for a drive and see how it feels, and then talk to the person that you have check it out to see what he thinks of it.

That interior looks like it's been sitting under water. Is this a flood-damaged car?

Definitely not a West Coast cobra. The Stallion-derived body shape on the WCC is very distinctive and other than the roll bar and fuel fill location, this does not even closely match. Engine bay and cockpit are completely different as well. It does look like a basket case though and unless you can buy it for next to nothing, I agree that you're well advised to walk (run!) away.

That CA ID sticker has been painted around, and poorly at that...

You know how sometimes when you're thinking about something and a little red flag pops up and you think oh-oh, this may not be such a good idea?

Well when I read about this car a whole forest of red flags explodes up!

Forget it. Buy something else.
