I think he left a long trail of memories that some folks just don't forget.:LOL:

Nice car...hey, I was never one much for personalized plates, but I bet "CSX4206" is open here in Missouri. Would look good on my Backdraft replica...

I'm sure that would twist Evan up a bit...but you go with that and let us know when you receive the summons or injucntion from his law firm!**)

I have warm feelings for "rsimoes" too and his crazy postings and questions. And there was that last thread where he ranted against the rest of us. A long time ago, he built a Kirkham with everything under the sun for roughly $127,000 and then sold it about a month later for $88,000 when he decided the car wasn't right for him.

How about Ernie? What did own, an ERA was it? How about PowerSurge?

What about "jdog"? Do you guys remember he built/bought a black fiberglass CSX4000 and then ultimately sold it and left CC?

Do you guys remember the Nissan Leaf owner who lived in New York, I think Manhattan, and took trips to Petco to pick up kitty litter on the subway? "NYG" or something along those lines. He had some "great" posts, where he offered literally nothing to this site, but would post some odd threads unrelated to virtually anything we discuss here. He never owned a Cobra and never will.;)

We have fond memories for all who pass thru, including RealOne. You guys remember how he would admit his Shelby was a replica in one post, then in his next post deny it was a replica and spend the next 25 pages posting dead links to information that was a decade out of date. And stating that it was SAAC's position today.

You guys remember he would attack Ned The Registrar, Curator and Keeper of All Things Shelby/AC Cobra? Fond memories. Ahh, yes, those were the good old days.

I have had many clients that insist on "perfect" in the construction biz and don't care about cost. I try to tell them that there is no such thing. They don't care and it has cost me a lot of $$ over the years fighting about it. "Perfect"...well, that's a word.

Uhhh, and I recall you showed him how to take the loss as a full credit against his taxes owed for that year, right? :JEKYLHYDE That's why bernica needs you.

We mustn't forget tinman. Felt bad for him.

Tinman contacted me some time after he left this forum (which was the result of some rather tasteless jokes surrounding the unfortunate incident) and he had decided to keep his car. I assume he still has it.

I don't intend to lose a dime on my car and it's not for sale (sh_t, I sound like Evan!), so I am in no need for tax write off advice, at least as the car goes.;)

My list of memories wasn't exhaustive by any means, but the greater point is that we've had many long threads about those former Cobra owners who have left this site, probably mostly because of Patrick's snooze-fest "How To" Series. I especially "loved" the one about painting his Trigo wheels the same Desert Storm Hummer Beige that he painted his ERA body.

RealOne is just another former member who left, er, I mean, was ceremoniously dismissed from this site.

You'll have to forgive Patrick. He seems to be myopically focused on fee income and tax write-offs right around the March 15th tax filing deadline.

Just because it's not for sale doesn't mean you won't sell it. All it takes is for Melania to lay eyes on it, claim she can't live without it, and *poof* it's going to be out of your garage one way or another.

I looked at Bernica's CSX4250 before he bought it. The car was owned by a gentleman in Los Gatos. Bernica is sitting on quite a paper profit.

I should have bought it. It would have saved me a ton of money in the long run. Unfortunately, this polished POS in the garage caught my eye. Thank goodness for the money tree in my backyard.

I know several "Melania's". Just look at my avatar or photo gallery.
I have heard it all..." I must have this car and going to call my boyfriend to buy for me!" No, it never happens.:LOL:

Actually, having someone come up and offer me a ridiculous amount of money for my car is a fear of mine. I just don't think I could ever sell her, at any cost, but we all know that's just not reality.

It's definitely not reality. No one would offer a ridculous amount of money for a beige Cobra. Beige Lexus? Maybe. Beige Cobra.

Live. Fate loves the fearless. ;)

A friend of mine was out watering his lawn one day and a big Mercedes pulled up and asked "how much for the house"? He said "not for sale". Then they opened the trunk and showed him grocery bags full of cash. So much he gave them the furniture and handed them the keys. He now lives somewhere else and is quite happy!;)

Let's hope so.;) But if that ever happened, I know who I'm calling for tax treatment....
