The Corvette GS is licensed by GM, doesn't the license make them real genuine and authentic, you know, like the Superformance Cobra.
At least that's how I see them advertised in eBay auctions.

Except resale value. When you go to sell that contraption, the GM drivetrain will markedly decrease the resale value, and the pool of available buyers, because everyone knows FE's are THE BEST in Cobra.
And my name is RodKnock.

Who's Clapton and Harrison and which Cobra replica did they purchase?

At least Evan got this correct:
"CSX 4206 as been accepted into the Shelby American Automobile Club 4th Edition World Registry of Cobras and GT40s as a genuine Cobra."
I remember when he was spiraling out of control, at the end there, he was referring to the Registry as the 40th edition.
Additionally, I'm very happy that Evan specifically states this CSX4206 was "accepted" ( ) into the 4th Edition of the Registry, because that 5th Edition of the Registry will probably give him a myocardial infarction when all the replicas, Shelby, Kirkhams and SPF GT40's, are all left out.

I think if you are a Ford guy but you love the look of a Corvette Grand Sport and you bought a replica , than a nice big Ford FE is fantastic. I had a ride in an Arntz that had a 426 Hemi and it was fantastic . When it is a replica kit lets not kid ourselves , different strokes for different folks.

Mister rodknock,
How does a Cobra owner get his/her car listed in the SAAC registry? Is there a fee, or a panel of Cobra guys who grade & judge cobras?

Actually, the 4th edition of the Registry makes no mention of Evan and only states that 4206 was purchased by a "Candace". Must have been a nice birthday or Christmas present!

I got my ERA in the registry through my clever use of a fluted knob on the dash. Even Evan was shocked at that one: How do they rank?

I was quoting and referring to his ad, which you originally posted. Who actually owns the car is of no concern to me, although Candace could be Evan's legal name and he uses Evan so he isn't made fun of.

Well if my name was Candace I'd go by Evan too.

My Kirkham is listed in the Registry and I did absolutely nothing. Shelby and Kirkham must provide chassis #'s to the RRR (Registry's Replica Registrar).
In the 4th Edition, my Kirkham is listed as "inventory at Kirkham." The Registry came out right about the time that I purchased my Cobra.

I refrained from stating Candace' last name in Registry, but same as Evan's. That's why I figured it was a gift.

I'm sort of hoping that Evan gets his price. Then multiple things happen:
1. CSX 4### owners all rejoice as a new high bar is created. This is how markets work, right?
2. The Kirkham owners similarly rejoice for the same reasons. After all, they pretty much have the same car without the Shelby badges. Again, this is how markets work, correct?
3. Evan opens up a fresh bottle of 30 year malt, pours himself a glass, and then quietly tells everyone here to shove it up their a$$.

The sale price all boils down to two algebraic equations:
Evan's Price = or > Vern's Price < $200,000
If Evan's Price > $200,000 then "Wish in one hand, $hit in the other. See which one gets filled first.
