Why would the Registry want to know? The Registry is published every decade and prices aren't tracked or published.

And unless I see a bank wire transfer and/or legally executed sales agreement, I won't believe a word of it. It's the Internet for heaven's sake. The home of BS.

Is that an all aluminum Shelby fe engine in the blue Kirkham on Cobra Country?
If so, doesn't that engine retail for close to $30,000.

Just sayin, apples to apples, Evans car ain't worth the $$$$$$ to me. I'd buy the blue one and wave the extra $100,000 at him as I drove by.

And the blue one is dry sump and has a diff cooler (offered by SAI). Does Evan have either?

Dave Brown, the owner of the blue KMP, is every bit of fastidious, as Evan. Dave had Stewart Hall disaasemble and reassemble his car after he bought it. BTW, I also used Stewart Hall. And I always thought the dry sump had major "cool" factor in the same vein as a Cammer would.

Dave's blue Kirkham just another reality check for Evan, A+++ car @ $149K OBO.

You can easily spend that depending on the build and how it's finished.;)

patrickt 03-05-2016 06:46 PM

It's getting so you can drop thirty grand on just about any FE.

Yup, then start polishing everything!
I do like the OEM fuel filter on the blue car. Very true to the original, as it looks like the rest of the car is. A very nice build!!;)

Correct, the first listing. Turns out I live about 20 miles from Dave, small world.
One of the nicest Kirkhams I've ever seen listed.

Is there any problem with the SB100 stating a 1960 Ford engine when it really isn't?

Perfectly legitimate -

"Per California Vehicle Code §4750.1, the first 500 program applicants in each calendar year may choose whether the inspection is based on the model-year of the engine used in the vehicle or the vehicle model-year. If the engine or the vehicle does not sufficiently resemble one previously manufactured, the referee will assign 1960 as the model-year."

Ron61 03-06-2016 07:25 AM

Joe,

I am not positive but I believe they did away with using the year of the engine and you just use the year the car most closely resembles now. It seems if I recall correctly there was some mess with replacement engines not having a stamp on the blocks that they could use or something along those lines. Everyone that I know used the year the car most closely resembled anyway.

Ron,
Maybe, the rules are always changing. Certainly not retroactive to existing SB-100/SPCNS vehicles if it has changed. That info came from a downloadable PDF file from the CA DMV website about 3 years ago.

Soooo, who exactly has the problem? %/

True, we're like a bunch of girls gossiping about high maintenance Mary Jane and if she will ever find the right guy after being booted from the clique. But to be fair, based on the derailing of your thread "Personalized Plates" on that other site I would say she still has some issues

jhv48 03-06-2016 09:05 AM

I heard she was pregnant at the prom!

Blue66 03-06-2016 01:43 PM

That blue car got me thinking.. I know I know.. I was just out in Cali afew weeks ago. IF it were a CSX # car I would have made a deal on it !!! I think I could move my old car locally in a few months when summer hits.. Damm that is a beauty ! I usually check out COBRA Country frequently but we have been away from home and I forgot. Not many alum cars for sale out there with a price like that . Yes I am serious

Ohhhh well. Life goes on.

None. Dave's KMP has the SB100 exemption. No smog checks for the life of the car.

When I got my SB100 certificate in 2008, CA BAR referee was still asking the question of a) year of car that it resembles or b) year of engine. The date of the SB100 exemption for Dave's car is 2004.
