That was a bad and nasty crash. Twice what killed Dan Whelan!
I guess he must be looking online and watching Lewis Hamilton picking up the Cobras and wants to be part of the club. Maybe we'll see him here!

It is not only true but here is his new car to replace it. Good for him getting the price he did for it.

I realize times and technology have changed a lot since I last drove a Porsche in the 70s. It was presented as a true sports car and the marque touted a racing pedigree to prove it. But that little engine made a lot more noise than power and it never sounded like I thought a sports car should. Kinda reminds me of someone. .... For some reason I think Evan will fit in the Porsche crowd much better than he did here. I wish him and the Porsche crowd luck.

Congratulations to Evan, on the sale price of his authentic Shelby Cobra, and his gorgeous new Porsche! Nicely done.

That car is well beyond most people's ability. It make noise and goes like hell. I came from a 991 911s. Great car hardly comparable.

Good for Evan. If you wanted to recreate that car it would cost a bundle so if that was your goal it was a good value.

This is a video of the exact car that Evan got. To me it is very impressive and can be driven on the street in comfort.

My bro has a gt3, the car is really really stiff suspension, a legal street "track car." The new gt3 rs is selling for $250K+++

So, what trigger Evan to quit the Cobra hobby? The guy was a die hard Cobra, and in a span of 3-4months, he sells his beloved Car? Hmmm.

Anyone know the difference between a porcupine and a Porsche?

Evan chose the right car.

Sad thing is that Evan is not able to defend himself here. He is generally a good guy. He just believed that a new car sold by Shelby is a real Shelby Cobra, as Shelby marketed it to be. The rest of the Cobra crowd believed that calling it real is miss leading people, as they assume the meaning of real is original. It kind of depends on what the meaning of the word is is, type of thing.

I think he finally realized he would never change the Cobra crowds minds and decided to walk away from the whole damn thing out of frustration.

I disagreed with his position but understood it. I understand why he was excommunicated from this site, and I see the reasoning. However this thread has at times kicked him when he was not able to defend himself, which is not fair. On the other hand, at times this thread praised him, as if his eulogy. Perhaps he deserved neither. Either way this thread doesn't seem right to me, but I read most of it, so what does that say about me?

Come on, you haven't been watching all the drama?

As predicted:
1. The price he got was lots closer to his asking price than the trolls.
2. The new owner will never show up here.
3. Evan will forever live in the trolls heads. Or maybe the reason we haven't heard from them is because their heads exploded.

after 25 years of die hard 911 driving i am exited to my upcoming cobra experiences
