Wow! I just received this from Hemmings.
Looks like Evan is moving on. Beautiful car!

Not at that price he isn't.
Glad to see he still has a firm grasp of reality.

Great car. And Evan, if you're lurking good luck! I hope you get what you are asking for it. Mainly because mine was built just a little behind yours!

Say it isn't so. I think we all can blame Jamo for Evan deciding to sell his car. Once he was banned from CC, all you have to do is draw a straight line from his banning to this ad.
"CSX 4206 as been accepted into the Shelby American Automobile Club 4th Edition World Registry of Cobras and GT40s as a genuine Cobra."
Did he just use the term "genuine" to get me riled up?
He should add a footnote that the 5th Edition of the SAAC Registry will likely remove (reject) his CSX from the Registry.
You guys have it all wrong about the price. Evan is already discounting his Cobra by 6.5% (229,000 versus $245,000) off the retail price of his car. Or you buy Vern's alloy CSX4227 for $160,000 obo and still have $70,000+/- for painting and detailing.

Well you have to miss ol' Evan. And that is one beauuuutifuuuullll car, I'll hand him that. Might be a wee bit overpriced, but if it just happens to catch the right buyer's eye, you never know....

As I have said before, JAMO is the "third rail". Touch it and look what happens!

The "irrational exuberance" of sellers nowadays is just a wee bit out-of-hand. Being a member of other forums, sellers in the marques that I'm interested in seem to think it's the late 1980's or something. We're in the midst of winter and the stock market has just taken a big hit. If he gets over $200,000, then I'm a "monkey's uncle."
However, I think he paid something like $75,000-$80,000-ish, so he'll be fine in any case.

I wonder what prompted the sale? I figured he'd sell his wife and kids before he would part with the car. Maybe that's what happened.
I remember he said he had an offer for something like $250,000 but turned it down. Bet he called that guy first. Guess he wasn't interested any longer.

Correct this and correct that. Goodness it just goes on and on. I don't think it'll be fair to blame Jamo. Surely if you love your car that much, nobody will make you sell it. Genuine and original is still a fine line, between truth and hope.

I heard he is going to get a real, genuine AC Cobra with a GM LS motor, or so I've heard. Sorry for double post, cant figure out how to delete?

I think Evan would be rather amused. It only takes the mention of his name and the wisecracks floodgate starts to open.
Evan - I hope we don't lose you from this forum
Cheers,
Glen

I think everyone here would agree that Evan built an awesome and correct car. He was / is very proud of it as he should be. Sometimes his "website manner" on CC rubbed folks the wrong way, but that's Evan. I seriously doubt he cares.

Yes, I had offered to tutor him in "the art of irritating people without getting booted," but he was still mulling the offer over when the proverbial axe fell. Time and time again I told him "Evan, I sense the grim reaper is on the backswing..." but did he listen? Of course not. Oh well, I'll try and pick up the pace on pissing people off just to make up for his absence.

Could you please... I often re-read old posts (yours in particular) for entertainments sake, particularly while waiting between flights. Found one with DR.385 that had me in stitches...
As for Evan, He'll just tell you his testing the market no doubt... and will no doubt make it infuriatingly difficult for anyone to actually buy it, should history repeat.
CSX 4206 for sale. No comments on this thread please!
