Aluminum is a weak metal, an it is probably not that thick either. You really want a bolt with a significant washer on the backside to dissipate the load of the extinguisher in a crash. It is just not worth the potential harm to take chances.

A 60 mph+ crash in one of these cars is dangerous enough, you do not want to have the good fortune to actually have everything work well enough for you to survive a high speed crash, except for being taken out by your fire extinguisher

Even if its a fashion accessory bolt the thing in securely. If it lets go during a role every chance without secure fitment it'll be 20pounds of metal heading for your head as it exits the vehicle.

If you track your car or even if you don't IMO, first belt yourself in tight, wheel on, helmet on, gloves on etc etc and then install it in an area you can still reach and unclip it easily... if your upside down, leg stuck etc etc and there's a fire you wanna be sure you have it mounted in a place you can reach and access EASILY!

And if you are serious about tracking the car, get a HANS device (I will bring mine over to show you when I get out there). Take a close look at the drivers face and its orientation in the helmet. That helmet will not be very helpful in preventing spinal damage if it is riding up like that! I know that the helmet if mostly for the head, but if it can contort around the head like that it becomes a danger to the person wearing it. A HANS device will not only minimize neck injuries, but it also keeps the helmet in place as well.
