Default ERA 154 for sale

Anyone looking to get into an ERA for a tad above $40k should check out the For Sale section. Patina or not I doubt you are going to get into an ERA with a sideoiler or less money. I don't have any knowledge of the car or owner.

It was Ernie's (excalibur) car.
He posted a lot about it.
Afaik the next owner would be the 4th owner.
Shame about the circumstances under which it is being sold.

Fwiw: Car Looks nice to me and I'm doing my research.

It does suck when one has to part with their cobra when it is not something that they want to do.

I thought I recognized that Cobra...

Anyone else remember the "First $25K Takes it" thread when the owner in San Jose first posted it here back in 2000/2001? I went and looked at #154 but Ernie had already slapped his money down with premium. If I recall correctly, he did a lot of work on it to get it into the condition it is today. Nice car.

Congrats!

I hadn't heard Ernie's name in a while. I remember his car. Didn't he own it while he was living in Hawaii and then he moved to Oregon and shipped it there?

I'm intrigued about what a "commitment to buy" actually is these days. I'm not having a go at you FG, just pondering aloud...

Does it mean someone has paid a deposit and agreed on a firm price and it's just a matter of whether the remainder of the cash goes into account X or account Y on Monday?

...or does it mean (like I see on countless Facebook buy/sell pages) someone shouts from the rooftops that it's SOLD, when in fact they've sent a message to the seller saying they're interested in maybe coming over at some stage to look at the item which they may or may not have wife/bank approval to buy, only to not go through with the purchase because the unreasonable seller wouldn't sell the item for half the asking price?

It's equivalent to a non-binding letter of intent.

Yes he owned it while he was in Hawaii and then shipped it to Hayward where I went with him and drove one of his cars home. He was In Redding for a few months and I kept the Cobra in my garage during that time while he looked for a place in Oregon.
