Black CSX car on E-bay
There has been a black aluminum CSX car on E-bay the last couple of weeks, Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the car has an automatic in it? I called the guy selling it and he says it does not, but know very little about the car. You can see the shifter, tranny cooler and tranny dipstick in his photos. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed?

Looks like a Gennie shifter. I had one just like it in an old Cobra I was building.

3 reservoirs on firewall. 1 must be the clutch.

If this is the car you guys are talking about, Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster | eBay
it says it's a top loader though I think I see a kink-down on the throttle. Pretty scary if the seller doesn't know about it. Do I also see a trans cooler in front of the passenger footbox?

Dang. It's one thing not to let them into the bathrooms in NC. But to make them chill in front of a footbox sounds extreme.

Also looking at the interior shot from the passenger side, it appears to have 1 pedal only. ( brake pedal I would assume and not including throttle pedal)

If it has an auto so what? Get over it. Carroll's own car (289) had an auto.

I think is issue is whether the description matches the car.

I was scratching my head when he said he thinks the engine is a 454 cuin. Really? He doesn't know, but he knew what weatherstripping he used?

A 427 FE stroker with 428 crank is a common upgrade and displaces to 454 CID.

So he really doesn't know what engine he has in his car?

Auction ended and reserve not met at $150k plus change. A "poor man's" version of Evan's car with sketchy description. Surprised it got to $150k, but then there is the "shill factor".

If you exclude Evan's sale, as an outlier (and not mutually verified), there were two other alloy CSX4000's that sold for roughly $150,000, one of them being Vern Estes' CSX.
So, it's a little coincidental, nay strange, that the bidding ended at $150,000 plus a couple schekels.
