My observations above were all based on the pics on the Vanguard site.

Do you have a link to it there?

Not sure why. I thought you were being a little too kind. It's a nice enough car, but I don't see anything that would put it over the $25,000 mark. I'm no expert though.

Quick look at the undercarriage pictures confirms a donor suspension set up.
I have to question whether the heads are aluminum, as I'm looking at where the headers bolt up to the heads, and I swear that I see surface rust. Can't say I've ever seen surface rust like that on aluminum. Can someone else take a look and confirm what I am seeing?

I missed that on my list, but I see black cast iron heads. Don't know too many folks painting aluminum heads.

But the Ebay ad says aluminum heads.
Stephen,
I have no dog in this fight but just curious...
You know Cobras for sure. As a dealer of reputation that certainly knows Cobras and has sold some very nice ones, don't you have an obligation to go over the car and advise the seller to set a realistic expectation? Or, are you just obliged to put it on the market for whatever he insists he wants?
Honestly, I don't know how that works...

Certainly not the FFR crowd. They don't seem to be a bunch of "originalists" as a group.
So, if you overlook the poor paint stripping, dangerous fuel line installation and the absolute worst "bricks on ice," er, Cobra tires (BFG) made on Earth, it's a pretty good deal then.
Sorry, my family can't stand my humor either.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, you’ve been a wonderful audience. I’ll be here all week. Try the veal. And don’t forget to tip your servers.

Funny man always. And yes, they shift like butter. Every time. No long threads about TKO's. They just work IMHO.

What about the driveshaft yoke barely hanging off the back of the transmission in photo #4 ???
Somebody put a lot of time into that 25K car.

Here's the VIN # in the ad: 5F07C735272
Isn't this a VIN # for a 1965 2-bbl Hardtop Mustang? If I were a buyer, I'd be curious if you could use this VIN # for registration or not. I'm not sure you could in CA.

Good catch! I missed that one. That is indeed a s/n for a '65 289 2v. I thought FFR issued their own VIN numbers. Maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, it would appear that the car made it through registration since it's being driven (in that State).

Well, it's stamped in the frame so it must be legit.
Isn't it amazing how things evolve online once the light shines on something? Any legal types here know the ins and outs of putting a mustang vin on another car? This pic is from the vanguard site. I didn't think FFR put their numbers on the Xbrace?

Is the "7" in the 6th character slot correct for an early Mustang? I thought they were 1's or 2's maybe. "7" seems wrong for a 1965 Mustang. I can't remember anymore, it's been so long since I've owned one.
