In this instance, my understanding is the price matters more than the HP.
...and seat of the pants 500hp vs 550hp in a cobra is not distinguishable by me at least.

Further given the choice, I'd go a NEW modern block (unless I needed a date code for some specific reason). NOS just ain't, once you build it.

Question is though, can you get a new block built for the same price you can negotiate this NOS build?

Or you could just have Brent build you the below motor but change the heads to the Kasse P51 so that the motor could fit in your car.

Your new tag choices could be OTOFGAS or FEEATER but I guarantee you would probably be at your local grocery looking for adult diapers to invest in. I rode in my friends SPF Sunday with 600HP and 600TQ and that thing is fast.....he has fresh Avons and coming off those spirited runs it makes me think 700TQ and 750HP would be downright nasty.

My assumption would be that Brent could build you a stroker 385 with a different cylinder head setup at the price point or a lower price point than one of the stroker FE combos. It may not be what you want so I am just referring to actual price point for a 385 vs FE build.

That 445 & 453 both probably feel pretty much like mine. My 447 has a little shorter stroke, slightly fatter bore, a few tenths more compression and a few degrees more duration, but a little less lift, and little more lobe separation. Unless he sent something to you that was broken, which ain't gonna happen, you would be quite pleased with either. I really hope you're kidding, otherwise there's no need for you to respond further. Look, I don't have the money that you must have to purchase any engine, so I can't and wont, just pick any motor that's for sale or have a engine builder custom build me a engine, like you do.

I research everything, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you or anyone disagrees with my methods or learning, what's out there and best bang for my buck, then you don't have to follow me along with this discussion and engine build/buy. Unless I'm wrong, isn't this a discussion forum to ask other members their thoughts and ideas pertaining to our Cobra's, engines, drive train etc,...??? That's exactly ,....what I'm doing. If you or engine builders don't like me or anyone else asking in depth, with many questions, regarding engine choices, and you don't like it, then tough,...I get off my back.

If you don't have anything positive to add to this thread, then stay off.

I really hope,...that newcomers don't see your negativity here and decide to go elsewhere. Except for a few members like you, Club Cobra is a wonderful website !

Go to a different "discussion" forum and complain all you want, just not here on Club Cobra.

That's great bud. For mainly street driven cars, with some added track fun once in a while, I really like the low torque curves to be down low.

FUNFER2, this might be a cost effective solution at least for now. Don't know anything about the motor other than what is posted in the classified ad.

Anyway, I have been speaking with the owner Dave (great guy) about that motor. It's not exactly what I want, but close and he even came down on price a little.

A engine builder said to replace the rods. (cam and slugs of course)
But, there's more money

I've been looking at a lot of different ad's. A friend sent me your updated ad on CC.

That friend has the same year Cobra I do, and he has the tunnel wedge on his 427 side oiler with no hood interference.
So it must be lower than the Edelbrock Air Gap that I had on my 428.
It's a great engine my friend & wish I could buy it. Perfect !.

This engine is closer to 500 HP with the roller cam and tunnel wedge intake with the 710 cfm Holley's. I changed the valve covers and spark plug wires to give the engine a "prettier" look.
