If you could drive your cobra anywhere ?

I just drove highway 20 in NW Washington last weekend with a group of wonderful people. 7 Cobras all in a row is a pretty nice sight. it's a nice drive lots of curves and enough room to pass. Highly recommended.

Depends what your rating criteria are. I drove it in a turbo Volvo and was wishing for an open top car with decent torque.

We are living the dream here in the Northeast early in the morning after the summer tourists have all gone home. It certainly helps knowing where the LEO's frequent when the urge for very spirited driving hits and that is often.

I moved to Meriden in 1966 do remember a lot of traffic used to ride out in the country out toward Branford. Talking to people who live in that area they say it is very difficult to find quiet driving.

It's like that up here in so many places but knowing the countryside it not too hard to find those great places to let it all hang out.

Seeing how you now live in Maine, you know how traffic in southern New England can be. Yes, eastern and northwestern CT have some outstanding driving roads, but everyone knows about them and they are not lonely on weekends.
PS. We even have a baby dragon tail on RT. 42 between Cheshire and Prospect.

There are some great roads here in CT in my neck of the woods. Many twisty backroads if you are familiar with the area, the same roads i only go on with my bike will be the roads the new cobra will be hitting. I never go on these roads during the weekends, im lucky that my job allows me to hit these roads during the week when no one is around. Its all about exploring and finding the best roads, its taken me 20 years but CT does have some serious twisty backroads if u know where to look.

It's funny to read that many of you want to drive on the pacific road from SF to LA.
I've done it 2 times and like Route 66 (that I've done in 2014) there's not really pleasure to drive a Cobra on these roads as there are no curves (or very few). The best roads I've seen in the US are in Utah.
Otherwise in France we have more roads with curves than straight roads that's why it's very interesting to drive a Cobra in France.
I've discovered another country which is perfect (and better than France) to drive Cobra: it's Peru. I went there 1 month ago during 3 weeks and for me they have the most beautiful roads and curves I've done until now (Nasca to Cusco to Arequipa to Ica ==> 3000 kms of curves.. a dream !!!).

can drive my Cobra anywhere and I have driven many of the roads in Europe and the Mountain West and the backroads of Eastern Washington are just perfect on a early summer morning with no traffic winding up and down the Cascade Mountains.

For me, 4 hours in a Cobra is about a hour too long so I make short drives from home and back.

I agree with what you've said about PCH1 from SF to LA, but unfortunately, if you've only driven that portion of the highway, you've missed out on the best part, which is all north of SF. If you haven't done it, give it a try next time you're out here. Very nice scenic drive with LOTS of curves.

Here, in the Pacific Northwest. In a 3 hour drive time, we have the desert (eastern Wash.) mountains (everywhere here), and the ocean (Pacific) and great 2-lanes to everyone of them. Although it does rain here one or two days a year, we don't tan, we rust.

There are great driving roads all around us and these days they are kept in very good condition. Trouble is you have to pick your times and always be vigilant of LEO's. The places where there are no homes plenty of space to see what's way out in front are the best but a run in with an over zealous usually younger LEO spells doom.

Knock on wood I have been very fortunate. Only once coming up over a slight knoll in one of those secluded areas at approx. 130+mph met an LEO coming in the opposite direction he (young) was obviously very agitated when we passed each other by then had slowed to 80mph or so. I rowed it back into third gear and put the hammer down went straight home and parked the car. Only time in all my years I had ever done anything like that.

Exactly what my daughter told me. US Highway 101 north of SF is absolutely beautiful and should be experienced by anyone who likes driving.
