The are two Washington States....as is the case in many States.... not only does Eastern Washington have great roads with very lite traffic, it also has very nice sunny weather from March till Nov.
I will agree that the PCH north of SF is great... but the weather is iffy compared to south of SF....but on a nice day the traffic is not as heavy.

I would have to say not any one road but a route, It would have to be the Gumball Rally route! N.Y. to California or maybe a combination of the Fourball Rally and the Gumball Rally, Boston (say top of the parking garage in City Square in Boston) to Long Beach parking lot of the Queen Mary. There are so many great driving roads here on the Central Coast of California, and I love driving them. I drive one every Saturday morning after the Dounut Derelicts car show.
As far as a "place", I would love to drive my car:
to this iconic location:
and take a color picture there of my car, duplicating that rare publicity photo.
Just one of my "hope to's".
Cheers
Greg

Greg,
Is that Morro Rock in the background ? If so, you're way too close to not take that picture ! Hell, I'd drive down and take the picture with you in the car for you. But you'll have to provide your own cute blonde.

Well Ted, it is a rock, but not Morro Bay.
Think Pacific Coast Highway but farther south.
Cheers

In South Africa - the N2 road between Somerset West and Riviersonderend (Unending River)- lots of sweeping curves flowing from one to the next through hills and two mountain passes with a wide road (about 4 lanes most of the way) in excellent condition. Would think many of the curves could be taken at speeds between 80 and 120 MPH - of course you would need the OP's conditions re traffic and Law Enforcement to apply. All this with fantastic scenery of wheat fields and Canola. About 100 miles and then the same on the return trip. You would have the chance to pull top speed in some sections.

If I could drive my cobra, anywhere.
At this moment as it not registered yet, I just want to drive down my street.

We just finished that trip.. A few of us from Arizona took a bucket list trip from Phoenix to Malibu, up 1 and 101 through Big Sur and Carmel, Pismo, Monterey, across the GG bridge through Muir Wood and on up to Fort Bragg. Came back down through Napa and Sonoma and then up to Tahoe for the Antique Wooden Boat Show. It was a 10 experience of a life time. If you have a bucket list trip like this anywhere in the back of your head, GO DO IT!
