Drove mine yesterday but it was 26 degrees F outside, so it was a short drive. Got home and discovered a small puddle of antifreeze, traced the issue to what appears to be loose intake manifold fasteners. Passenger side bolts were all to spec, but driver's side bolts were all quite loose. Wtf?? Snugged them up to spec, we'll see if that fixes the problem.

I pulled one of the carburetor sand changed a leaking gasket and then got out for an hour and tested it. It was a cool 55 degrees but still a fun ride!

Just my annual wax job. Still have 18 more items on my list to accomplish before spring-nothing major, just appearance and minor driveability stuff.

I installed a fuel pump inertia switch. It's an OEM switch from a Fox body mustang. It's been bugging me for several years that I didn't have one on my electric fuel pump. I finally found my 'round tuit'...

Swapped out the 15 inch wood wheel (which I love) for a 14" leather wrapped wheel. Wanted a 15 inch leather wheel but couldn't find one with spokes at 9 and 3 that I liked. This made a huge difference in the comfort and control of the car after swapping to a manual steering rack.
Also swapped out the seats for some Cobra Roadster SR seats. These are pretty narrow but luckily I'm skinny (or trying to be!). They feel so good! I spent an hour in the car yesterday and was totally comfortable and could have kept going MUCH longer if I had more time. The lateral support is excellent too.

Checked my timing today - went to get started and my old Actron timing light from 1979 (remember the old heavy chrome ones?) quit working. Went down to Autozone to get another one and asked the young guy behind the counter where they were in the store and he asked me "what make and model" and started to try and look it up in his parts book! He didn't know what a timing light was. I saw them behind the counter though. Funny thing - this one was $45.00 and the one from 1979 was $32.00 in 1979 (still had the price sticker on it). This one is not nice heavy chrome though.

Getting ready for the new rally season. Have the dash all apart for some wiring issues. I added new interior lights, pulled out the old alarm system, added relays for each heater to keep from burning up the heater switches. This is just the best toy in the world!

Putting new bearings on the 30 spline stub axles and replacing the ring & pinion in the Jag rear. The new Powertrax LSD arrives tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have everything done within the next month or so!

Busy weekend.
Worked on a KMS with a friend.
Finished wiring my alternator.
Wired in a refurbished Lucas DB10 so now all 4 blinkers work.
Also removed wheel spacers as narrower rear tires allow room.
Started summer prep .....

Thanks, I am going for a 2 hour cruise tomorrow so I will see how that goes first lol. We went on vacation to Weirs beach last year and it took 4.5 hours each way so I will have to see how driving it goes before deciding. Thanks for the invite.

Millsy,
Go for it! My wife and I drove my ERA from upstate NY to New Britain, to Weirs Beach and then back. 1500 miles in one trip in 5 days. You can do it. Enjoy the ride.

Serviced my Penske shocks - new seals, oil and charged with Argon gas. Don't have Nitrogen, but have pure Argon from my TIG welding set, so used that instead.
