Superformance Lights come on when washing
I have a superformance and when I wash the car the lights sometimes come on and will not go out. If I take it for a ride they eventually will go out. Im sure water is getting somewhere it shouldn't but where? If you have had this problem please let me know what you have figured out and the fix.

Which lights? Headlights. running lights, brake lights. One of both?

As I recall the switch on the dash really controls a relay (due to current) so check that the relay isn't getting wet.

The relay is my recollection on a Shelby CSX4000 car. Check you wiring diagram. The relays were mounted in a block on the engine side of the firewall.

A couple possibilities: 1) the headlight relay behind the dash. 2) the headlight connectors in the front wheel wells (although if it's both headlights something common like the relay is most likely.)

Hold on here.... what is the connection to washing the car and having the lights come on? Relay getting wet every time the car is washed? Have you tried just hosing down the front of the car - say from the hood locks forward to see what happens? If that does nothing try wetting down the car from the hood locks to the doors.... This is quite odd. If you have my Wiring Diagram, trace the always HOT wires to the lighting circuit. You getting puddles in the car on the floor when you wash the car? You have a drop down fuse panel, any water in there after a wash? Should be easy to see. Driving the car after a wash makes me think water shorting something up front and drying out after a short ride. Your regular and high beams work properly?
