Default Cobra "Wide" Seats where to find them, or ?

Hello,
I am in need for some wider seats, unfortunately I can only find a standard "Small" Classic Roadster seat.

I just posted in the parts section but I most likely not receive a response due to the post being a few years old.

Has anyone installed the "Corbeau Classics Seats" ?

If so how did they fit with the Headrest and the radius decklid ?

Thanks in Advance,

Bill

Cobra seats make an XL and XL+ roadster seat.
Cobra Seats - Historic Seats: Classic seats with a true heritage

Summit sells em stateside but they get pricey in leather.

you stated you need wider seats. I take it you have seats. Are they the fiberglass units?
If so can't you cut them into and glass them back together?

Local shop I hung around modified seats for "big guys" who like to drag race.
Fiberglass seat; they would cut into, pop rivet a piece of metal to hold the seat apart for the width they wanted. Glass in the gap. Let dry them remove the pop rivets and metal. Make a new seat cover.

Metal seats; cut into and weld in a piece of metal. Most of these were aluminum seat with no seat cover.

Not as easy as buying off the shelf but if you can't find want you want, make your own.

I watched them cut a carbon fiber Pro Mod body into to make it wider. Used the same method. Must work because the car ran way over 200 mph.

Second option - weld or have someone weld aluminum ones and take them to an auto seat shop for finish.

Just an idea.

I use the Kirkey drag buckets and they are available in widths, super comfortable, and (important for me at least) will keep your noggin off the roll bar if you back into the Armco at the track. One day I will re-install the stock SPF seats but for actual use the Kirkey's are great.
