Default I've had my cobra a week...Face hurts from smiling all the time.

Well, my car came last week and I'm already up to 600 miles. This is the most fun I think I've ever had in a car.....well, maybe that one night in college.

Here's a picture, can't wait to turn the key again.

PS....FFR built in 2001

That's a nice look. I've always liked the FFR profile.

Thanks fella's,

Here is some additional info....it will mean more to ya'll than it did to me haha, I'm still a rookie when it comes to these cars.

It's a 302 with GT40 heads and Holly 670 street Avenger on Edlebrock RPM manifolds......I'll be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure what all that means.

T5Z 5 speed, 3.23 with 8.8 posi, Pro shock coil overs on all 4 corners. .......Again, blank look on my face.

I was looking for a nice street driver, and I also only wanted Silver or Princess/Viking blue. The previous owner built this car in 2000-2001 and has had it since new. It's a great running/driving car that is plenty fast enough for me. Also the PO was well known and was a pleasure to deal with. It just felt right so I bought it and have absolutely no regrets.

I know one thing, now I want to build one, or at least find an unfinished kit to do. Don't get me wrong, I love this car but if one is this much fun then two can only be better. I would like to keep the 427 and then look into a 289 or slab with rear exhaust as a second car one day.

I took my wife to the pet store yesterday and after countless warnings about the pipes she stepped out to quick and got the first "Bite" of the family....She took it in stride, then looked at me and said "build the rear exhaust one"....so technically I have the green light haha.

This forum and the FFR one has been invaluable for research. I've been lurking for over 5 years and now am finally a proud owner.

Truth....as usual, after I ordered my car, I had a case of buyers regret... paying that kind of money for a toy was stupid..... then the car finally got here and I immediately drove it up the hill and the regret was gone forever..

Really one of the best car buying decisions of my life....and now I have a car with undercar exhaust and that was even a better decision....enjoy...

A virtual twin to mine! Not kidding, used to run those tires, rears wore out prematurely . Would be fun to park side by side while playing the song "double vision". Be careful 'till you get experienced. More than the pipes can bite you!

Enjoy the experience! There is nothing like a cobra. Adding a slab side would be a nice addition as well! It will be quite a while before the smile ever fades, maybe never

If you're the type of car guy that is cut out for the kind of driving experience a Cobra brings, then owning one can really spoil you for other, more "conventional" rides.

You still appreciate the quality, looks and performance of other cars, but few other cars give that visceral rush every time you take them for a spin. Welcome to the madness and enjoy the heck out of your Cobra!

RMally,

When you replace your tires you should look at going with Avons and Treadwear lettering to give it the Billboard look with radial performance. You can also use any other brand tire like Cooper Cobras or MTs and use a sanding disk to remove the raised lettering. The look comes out really nice.

Thanks every one!

I appreciate all the input, it truly is a unique driving experience. It's crazy because I've owned numerous classic cars but this thing in one week has grabbed more attention than any other car I've owned. Every one waves, thumbs up, honks, yells, I almost feel like a celebrity....And if I stop its an instant one car car show.

Just can't say enough, pure driving enjoyment and when parked its like a rare work of art.......Just love it.
