Finishline's description sez: "Auto Safety Glass". I don't know if that is tempered or laminated.

Not really. When you look up the definition, most web sites list them as laminated auto safety glass and tempered auto safety glass.

Windshields are laminated. Side windows are tempered. When tempered glass breaks, it turns into a pile of little glass nuggets (this is what your shower doors are made of). Laminated safety glass stays together with a flexible membrane when broken.

Really? I have been working on cars for 40 years now and never knew that!!
BTW...there are about 40 cars on the market today that use laminated glass on their side windows as well as front.

Do these wind wings actually increase driver comfort?

I just got a set from finish line after following these posts. They were a perfect
fit on my Kirkham. The screws that held the plexiglass wings had tapered heads
while the ones they provided had flat heads. They are exactly the same size as
the plexiglass wings so I don't think there would be any difference in wind deflection.
They do look nice and are easier to clean. I am saving my old plexiglass wings
as an extra set. The new wings are solid glass, no lamination, nice rounded edges.

Yes,
They allow you to "tune" the airflow as do the sun visors. With a little fiddling you can really control the airflow. And in the rain over 50 MPH you can basically divert most of the water over and around you....once you stop all bets are off!

This is absolutely true! The top visors and the side wings can make a dry cabin at speed (except for what flows in around the doors since the rain directed down flows behind the weather strip instead of in front. But stop and you'll get a shower. Oh, and nothing much helps with hail.
