Bondurant used Formula Mazdas as an alternative to Corvettes in the advanced classes. They were a hoot to drive!!!!

I received the new wilwood calipers for the rear brakes a couple days ago. They look to be bolt on. Unfortunately the pads sent are wrong. Boooo!
I am gathering up stuff to do a light restoration on the car before sale. ...new shift boot, new aluminum drilled pedal pads, paint the roll bar, reinstall the street seats and street tires, giving it a good buffing.

I have the cobra up on jack stands today. I have one rear caliper off and am ready to put the new one on. The wilwoods are 30% lighter than the sierras, 15% bigger hydraulically, and have higher quality details for longevity.
Woo Hoooo!

Got the two rear calipers on. Fronts are next along with a proportioning valve in case it is needed.

I got to thinking about my exhaust leakage between the pipes that go to the engine and the side pipes which come together inside the fender. It seems that with leakage between the engine and the o2 sensor the sniper will think the car is running lean and provide more fuel....so now I am looking at how to seal that up better.
Also am wondering about the fact that I have side pipes and an o2 sensor on only one side. Seems like maybe there should be a sensor on both sides.
Anybody know about this?

I am planning to put back the "Stock" cobra style seats in it. The angle of the back is pretty laid back. I am thinking it should be closer to 90 degrees. Is there a recommended angle for the back?

The cobra has not been finished up yet. I have been spending time autocrossing with the Formula Fit and doing other things.
Tomorrow though I am going to a Hoosier Cobra gathering in my 39 Studebaker Coupe express street rod (sort of a rod) with a diesel engine and five speed manual.
I'm going with my buddy John who is the seriously courageous person who rode in the orange Cobra with me at the Winchester high banked speedway a couple of years ago.

Today I picked up a 780 Holley to put on the 427. We were never able to really get the sniper going completely right, so the Holley seems to be a popular solution on these big engine cobras.

I am getting excited about another car so am thinking about getting the cobra back together for sale.
I think I'll go with one of the online auctions.
