Default Hi 2!!

Hi.

The above link hopefully leads to my other thread titled Hi! which I cannot get to any more because of the site problems.

I will post the lastest here I guess.

I have the car lowered down to where Herb and Matt had it to begin with, and have repaired the cracked wheel so it now sits again on its designed for 16" rims. I got an excellent alignment with 4 degrees of caster, 1 degree negative camber, 1/16" toe in and rear wheels have about 1/2 degree negative camber. The thrust on the rear end is perfect too.

I did some driving with it this way and it feels very good, more settled on the road.

Wooo Hooo!

So I had a new 16" tire mounted on the original wheel which had been damaged and repaired but found it is pretty bent. I did some comparison measuring and found that with one of the 17" from the front of the car can be fitted with a Hoosier A7 285/45r17 which is a match for the rear 16" with all dimensions being the same except the rim size. Yesterday I went up to Tire rack in So Bend and had one mounted on that rim.

So I'll be ready to autocross at Grissom on Sunday.

Wooo Hoooo!

Drove around a bit today. Seems good. tomorrow bright and early I'm going to my Indie's to get a rev limiter installed in the distributor. Then I'll load the car in the trailer in anticipation of running sunday at Grissom.

We got the rev limiter installed. Dead simple except for the wire that pulled out of its fastener. My Indie has this lovely little butane soldering torch which (obviously) does not require 110v.

Woo Hooooo!

Make a video with a phone or GoPro and then upload it to youtube. Then post the link to the youtube video here and people can watch. I believe that there are other platforms to do that as well; youtube is free.

So you are running one 17" wheel and three 16" wheels. Somehow, I can see Shelby smiling.

It's not my first choice, but correct wheels are very hard to find, in the correct offset, width and lug pattern. Hopefully this winter will allow me time to work something better out.

Did I mention the fuel injection system came? It did. Today the new throttle pedal from Lokar came. I want to sort the pedals so they are more intuitive this winter.

My VSE cobra has Sierra brake calipers. Lovely looking racing brakes.

I cannot lock the wheels with them though, and have changed the master cylinder sizes in an effort to make them work better.

I am coming round to the conclusion that they are racing pads. Does anybody know where I can buy new pads for them with street compound or a place to send them to get street compound pad material on them?

Sierra is out of business it seems.
