Default Instructions For Installing Hood & Trunk Prop Rods

Looking for instructions on installing the hood and prop rods I bought from Shell Valley. They appear to be the same ones that Finishline sells.

Thanks,

Jim

We used a similar hood prop for many years, but it was so sensitive to installation that we did all of them at the factory, so there is not much in our manual.

A vague picture of the trunk prop: Make sure that there is room for it to collapse when the trunk is closed. We also fabricate a different bottom bracket.

Jim,

I don't know if you show your Cobra or not but we had three people here that used just the prop rod on one side of the hood have their hoods twisted and ruined by the sun. They let them set all day in the sun with the hood open and they twisted pretty bad. What I did was get an aluminum tube and cut it to length, then put rubber ends on it and put it in the center of the hood if I was going to have mine open for a time. I also used the prop rod as the tube I made I carried in the trunk and it was not mounted permanently.

What strictlypersonl shows above looks like a far better setup than I had.

Ron

Hood prop
Any idea how to make sure there is room enough for it to collapse when the trunk is closed ?

Also, I'm going to copy the hood prop you make rather than use the one I have.

Thanks again,

Jim
