Mounting rear view mirror etc. in windshield channel.
Was looking for a way to mount a rear view mirror from my windshield frame. I bought this mirror from Speedway Motorsports and was going to attach it to the windshield but this summer I'm either re-chroming or painting the frame. Didn't want to risk removing the puck.
Searched the forums and found some mounts like this but using square nut ground down to fit in the channel.
I tried these 3/16 aluminum rivets and they worked perfectly. Had to shorten the sleeve and the first set was too short and didn't grab the lip. Leaving the aluminum rivet about 3/16 long worked though.
This would work well for mounting anything on the channel.
