427 Cobra hood scoops - mystery solved?

In my previous hood scoop thread, 1985 CCX wrote: "almost put identical scoop on my CCX years back. These used to be a regular item on eBay. From recollection around 2005-2008 ish."

I then hauled out of storage all my old Cobra catalogs and in the 1996 issue of Cobra Restorers Catalogue N0. 8, I found this:

Now the dimensions are just a little smaller than mine which is24" l x 17" w x 1-3/3" h. Hand formed so they may have varied.

Notice though how different the shape of the two scoops are with the one on the left being the more common shape.

So I've concluded my hood scoop came from Cobra Restorers and I bought it at a SAAC swap meet.

Mystery solved!

Well not quite yet.

I'm going to contact Cobra respores to see if the have any history on file as to the genesis of that shape.
