When i first saw the title of this thread I thought "what,...why?". I decided to have a look and then said wow! I get it now.
Very nice, thanks for posting. Care to guess the going price? 300K ea. for the cobras? 300 for the coupe?

Daytona Coupe with 3 speed auto???? No thanks.
The polished copper and bronze are indeed eyecatchers.
I would guess bronze would be more sturdy. Copper is a pretty soft metal.
You can price them out on Kirkham's website as shown.
Wonder if wait time would be measured in dog years.

I assume you're well into the "more money than you know what to do with" category when you're sitting around thinking of alternate metals to have the Kirkhams make a Cobra from, LOL. "Hmmm...should I do platinum next? Or maybe beryllium?"
Agreed on the automatic, but I would expect that's an easy change to a manual. I wouldn't kick that Coupe out of bed for having a C4. What a gorgeous car.

What difference does it make? It had just as well have the two-speed slushomatic from the 52 buick. It's only driven to take it off and off a trailer at car shows, if that. Most likely it was moved from a trailer to a heated cooled garage and hasn't been started since it was built. Nor will it be by the new owner.

The "more money than you know what to do with" would have to apply because neither of those cars is worth anywhere near some of those predictions.

These are a few cars from a very large collection. It's doubtful they have anything more than mechanics miles - ie, mechanic takes it out to warm it up and get it off the tire flat spots every 3 or 6 months.

Worth
You know the old saying...only worth what someone is willing to pay. IMHO every Kirkham isn't worth what they are priced at. Is it a collector thing? A prestige thing? Maybe but as far as value looking at the total construction package and the materials used, way overpriced. I have no use for those kind of things..........IMHO

I thought that copper car with the SOCH engine belonged to some guy named Darren xxx can't remember his last name but I thought he was from the Los Angeles area? I could be wrong.
The scrap value for silicon bronze is higher than copper so I would say it will bring the higher price.
"I have no use for those kind of things..........IMHO" I couldn't agree with you more

Cool Cobras, love the shifter! I would hate to even imagine the price tag from KMS on these two cars.

Copper description, " This car’s only miles come from rolling on and off a trailer for car shows, so it’s close to new. The engine compartment is stuffed with a rare all-aluminum 427ci single overhead cam V8 engine,"
Not driven. Are you thinking about it Mike?

I'm guessing that 99% of the population would say that about all cobra's.

Isn’t copper much heavier than aluminum? I also recall a thread a while ago about at least one of the new aluminum 427 SOHC engines blowing up easily due to some reliability problems with the chains stretching. This car might best be used as a trailer queen instead of driven hard.

The copper and bronze cars are museum cars. They are the epitome of "Why? Because we can". On the other hand it would be cool to see one on the regular weekend Arizona drives. Heck, I'd probably even come down to see it.
