Default Why is the tire not in the center of the rear wheel well.

Why is the tire not in the center of the rear wheel well? This looks awful.

And who pays $6k for a tune up?

...and paid V's Auto Repair & Performance, Inc. in Orange, CA $6,642.85 to tune it.

This is a huckster or a very stupid individual. Either way a fairly risky transaction.

It looks like a nice build except for those rear tires not being in center with the rear wheel well.

The tire is not in the center of the rear wheel well because that’s the way the originals were if you do not believe me find some original pictures I had a customer in the 80s that call me up after he received his car complaining there was no adjustment to move the rear wheels back and I told him that’s where they’re supposed to be

It may have something to do with the rear wheels should be toe in slightly? The rear wheels like to toe out during acceleration... maybe Im wrong

The rear wheels are definitely forward of centre in the wheel arch, as viewed from the 2 side on photos.

But as Tom has said, that is how they are.

As with any vehicle of value, be very cautious.

I smell a rat, since a few things like $6k for a tuneup? I would give 30hp for $1k.
The text left margin cut off?
Using somebody else's ad for comparison?

I think the main issue is that it needs to be lowered. This is my Hi-Tech; if you look at the rear wheel it’s closer to the front of the fender opening than to the rear, but being lowered it doesn’t accentuate the space behind the tire like the blue car does.

Same car when I first got it, before I lowered it and painted the wheel centers white.

I don’t know what the aspect ratio of those billboards is but I suspect they’re enhancing the issue.

Never quite understood (Dripping, layering, spreading) all this Armor-All type crap on the Tires #1 tires don't look like that (New or Cleaned) #2 after a few miles driving the stuff flips up on the bodywork, and road dust sticks to it, and makes it look like Sh-t. #3 Tires are suppose look Black & Dry. Am I the only one here that feel's this way Thought's Boy's Cheers TommyRot.

The first concours I was in years ago, cost me points for just that! Too much ArmorAll on the tires! I was still in the show car mind set and not concours. Learn as you go!

Kind of hard to see on the top car, but the 2 below it have the tire moved forward. Compare car profiles

Thanks, Bob! If I could change one thing I would remove the white stripes, as I've always loved solid red Cobras, but I think I can live with them.

On the Armor All thing, at one point in my life I guess I was guilty of over-applying it. Then, as Tom mentioned, I noticed that it sprayed all over the paint and made a mess of things. Now I put the low-gloss stuff on and then wipe it down after it sits for a bit. I like black sidewalls, but not black sidewalls I can see my reflection in.

If I eventually paint our cobra, it will be 1960's Ford Candy Apple Red, solid / no stripe.

I only use Aerospace 303 protectant on my Goodyear Billboards, for UV protection.
