Have you seen pictures of the chassis yet?
Offset trunklid latch would not be a trait of a Contemporary

It has torsion bar, front & rear Jag looks like a CCX Iowa Vin plate.

Interesting... it is hard to tell, but the body somehow doesn't look like Contemporary. Didn't Shell Valley or one of the others have a torsion suspension option at one time, many years ago?

No Smith gauges either.
Did Contemporary supply the original defroster vent deflectors? Those ain't them.

The early Everett Morrison cars had a 100% Jag suspension option.
Does the car have a 4" round tube chassis?
Photos from beneath and inside the hood and trunk might help.
Power Performance is/was located in Iowa, too. Maybe it's one of their early cars.

The body certainly looks like an early Contemporary - prior to the infamous "alterations". The other irregular details could be the result of a budget build from a very basic kit. We won't know for sure without pics of the chassis. etc.
EDIT: Even the license plate light is off-center in relation to the stripes! Looks like somebody didn't read the instructions before using his new measuring tape!
