Default MK II rear tire size

Quick question, I have 17 x 10" rims, currently with 275/40/17 tires, looking at 315/35/17,. Just asking if they'll fit without any issues? I " think" they will, but would rather be safe asking prior to ordering. I realize I need to see 1st what my rim width is, but was curious if the 315s would fit..
Thank you all in advance. Ken

Your rim may be just at or under the recommended minimum width for a 315/35-17 tire. The tire manufacturers and most retailers should have the recommended min./max rim width for the tires they offer. You could check this site to see if they have the tire you're looking for with rim width recommendations. https://tiresize.com/tires/Nitto/NT05-315-35R17.htm I have no previous experience with tiresize.com, just attached their site for easy information access.

A 10.5" rim minimum is recommended for 315 tires. If you intend to ever autocross of road race I wouldn't use a 10" wide wheel with a 315. But, having said that and as already mentioned, check with the manufacturers recommendations because some tires vary.

I would get in touch with Bob Lacey at Vintage Wheels 619-952-4717. Bob is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to tire and wheel combinations for a wide variety of vehicles and especially Cobra’s. I’m confident that he will be able to correctly answer your questions.
