Cobra crash, no seatbelts

Was this a rollover? Hard to tell from the pic. If so, then seatbelts might have been a detriment.

50 plus years riding motorcycles on the streets. It’s all about your mindset and self regulatory behavior. Same for my cobra. That said, distracted drivers are the killer.

Sounds like everything that could happen, happened. A friends Mother always said anything that happens after midnight, is usually not good. Case in point.

I'm with Raybones. My drivers side has Five-way for sanctioned racing. My passenger side has a Four way.

I have my harness set up for me because I'm the sole driver.

After I have a rider, I run all the straps out on the passenger side.

I start from all the straps full length and strap them in properly very methodically.

I have a street car so no roll bar. I wear my harness as I don’t like the looks of those visors brackets on the windshield header, or the header not that far away for that matter. The slightly dished steering wheel, solid steering column isn’t something I want to meet with violently either. But I do wear them loose enough that I can lean over to my right side if the option (and presence of mind) presents itself due to a side impact/rollover. But in reality, if you hit anything in one of these at any speed it’s probably going to be bad and having any time to react is anything but certain.

Its a car... it will not kill you lol... that's like saying guns kill people, its not the gun or the car its the person driving the car or shooting the gun..

Learn to respect the car, know its limitations and know your limitations. You will NEVER get killed by a cobra, you may be killed in a cobra BIG DIFFERENCE

For anything that involves leaving the driveway. Theres a reason ALL modern cars have shoulder belts…i dont want to peel my wifes beautiful face out of the dasboard when we get rear ended…

Totally agree, seatbelts at all times.
seems to me, unless you're wearing a HANS device, if you get rear ended, your head will go backwards, not forwards...

Unless you are wearing a HANS device attached to a helmet, your head goes both directions. When your head goes backwards your brain bounces off the front of your skull as it is sitting in fluid and then it bounces towards the back of your skull and makes contact. Of course as the brain is flying back and forth there are a lot of neurons that have the axions torn or damaged as they are not exactly rubber bands. Then there is that little whiplash thing happening with your neck and spinal column.

Going to have to disagree with this statement. Owning both many motorcycles over the years and a Cobra replica, they are equally lethal if you throw caution common sense and reason to the wind.
