No he’s in the ‘burbs. He’s in CT, about an hour outside the city.

I just looked and at the bottom of the home page it says the most ever on line here at one time was 3,146 on the morning of Dec. 23, 2011. Right now there are only 284 on line here as I type this. There's definitely less traffic on this site than in years past. Maybe sites like Facebook have taken a toll? I wouldn't know since I don't do any social media at all. I sure hope it's not a indicator that our Cobra hobby or our automotive hobby in general is waning.
Some names brought up here bring back some memories. I didn't know any of these guys but I sure remember them being very active on here. "Turk" was on all the time, now he seems to be gone for quite a while. I know that he and some others were in a bit of a clique, they had a name for themselves. I don't recall what the name was but they sort of had their own little group. Computerworks was another; he was very active but is long gone as well. I actually met him once, he had a storefront business at the time on Long Island when I lived there. I happened to be in that town one day and just walked into say hello. He was a very nice cordial guy and we chatted for quite a while. I remember Excalibur, Trularin, Hey Little Cobra, Capt. Eddie, 392 Cobra, WTM442, Rick Parker, Rick Lake and so, so many others. They were good times. Even Brent Mills (does he still own this site?) doesn't post much if at all on here anymore.

Yes, Doug, those were the days... long gone, it seems. Like you, I avoid social media like the plague! Perhaps that has taken a toll. Perhaps the young bucks are not coming up lovin' the cars like we all do...
Joined in mid-2003, so I guess I am an old-timer, as well!

Without a doubt, I am my favorite person. And if I wasn't, I wouldn't have bought myself a Cobra.

I vaguely remember joining earlier than 2000, but for the life of me, cannot seem to find the original emails from that long ago to confirm.

Sold both of my Cobras over the last 20 years. incredible cars but I just found I wasn't driving them enough to keep that much $$ tied up in them. Glad to see the site is still up and running.

Hi Tommy - due to unexpected circumstances (mostly good) I'm back here in the Caribbean for another month or so. I will be in Canada til the end of June when I have to return here to tie up some business. Once I'm actually settled, I will absolutely like to meet up with you and some of the Cobra guys. In the meantime, all the best and take good care of you and yours.

Bill, I can't remember what year I joined but I do know that during some of the server problems from several years ago mine got lost and it now shows 2001. But I think it was around 1996 when I actually joined but it was never important enough to try and find out or have it corrected.

Ron,
Per records archived in my files, this sites official date of birth was January 23th, 1999.
There was the original cobraforum, which was produced by Mike and Val Senior that dates back to early 1997, but was more a specialized site for early FFR builders.

Joined 2-8-99, based on the info in my profile. Had just purchased a Superformance, #346. Didn't post much, but learned so much from this forum and all the personalities on it.
Sold the car many years ago, and still miss her .
Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy new year to all members.
We lost a bunch of guys when the website became unusable for many of us, due to computer problems that I, and many others will never understand.
A major lost soul was "Cobra 3170" , a retired ford engineer, racer, autocrosser, who kept us abreast of his autocrossing adventures. His Cobra knowledge was vast, and he shared it all with us. Frustrated with problems with this site, he jumped ship to "Cobra talk", and still posts there.
I really miss the group of "Aussies" with their amusing version of the English language.
My memory aint what it used to be, so I can't recite a list of names, but the one I was keeping tabs on was "Leroy 17" who was restoring an Arntz. He had bought some land in a hilly location, and had bulldozed a side of a hill flat to erect a large "Shed". Last I remember, a forrest fire had started at some distance frome his land, but was headed towards his new house & shed !! Talk about a "cliff hanger" !
Hope he survived it all !
And of course, we have the normal "aging out"of some members, which will include me, in the near future, and my Kirkham may be showing up on bring a trailer this spring.
We shall see what the future brings,
Ted

I remember a thread for early 2011... A drag race between a cobra and a ferrari out in Vegas. Supposedly a fair amount of money on the line. Epic read.

Whatever happened to "Turk"? I remember that beautiful dark blue ERA he had with the white stripes and the meatballs on it, geez that was a gorgeous car. He used to be on here all the time and then he just sort of disappeared.

Him, and a small group of bullies were asked to leave. In a huff they set up their very own website where they could continue their off-topic conversations revolving around conservative politics, misogynistic views of women, bad jokes, and how best to display Porsches in a living room.
