Money, money, money
I guess when you have more money then you need, you can just do with as you please. I would like to see the bio of the buyer.
The car is 10 years old.

That is insane $ for a BDR...and as a BDR owner myself, I'm encouraged.
Maybe the body was finished in actual copper leaf.

Price
I am with you. When someone comes along and pays ridiculous money for a car, the whole market benefits.

Kirkham and Shelby cars seem about right when you add buyer's premium, but the price on the Backdraft? WTH? Maybe the frame is filled with cocaine and the car is just a drug mule.

All it takes is two men falling in love with the same woman.

Dang, I'm glad I bought mine when I was young and stupid. I'm way too smart to piss away that kind of money now.

Some of these cars may have been attached to a charity. The FFR that hammered for $100K was but one example.

Does the BDR buyer realize it’s a replica? Way overpriced / over bought by about 150k+!

Most of the cars are way overpriced. This one does take the cake though.

Replicas
Unless it was one of the originals built in the 60's, everything else is a replica. Remember, your car is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Todays auction saw ridiculous money for just about everything. 55k for a 66 289 mustang??? 110k for a Factory Five that was part of a charity auction. Big money for Ford GT's and vintage Vette's.
