Coyote Engine not so much for a purist.

Non-tubular frame - need details about the frame in general.

So it'll resemble a Cobra on the outside and maybe the passenger compartment, but that's about all.

Note it says "race car". Not street legal.

Doubt it. The few CF cars that HST built (of which one was mine) weren't this kind of CF. They were CF mat laid down in the resin like fiberglass mat. They looked cool, and I'm sure they weighed less than fiberglass, but they weren't the same as the baked material used in these (and the other guy that did the CF cars.)

This is very true. You can get a really sweet primo 289 car for under a mil. And have a true vintage racer.

I have to say that I don't get this one. This isn't a real Cobra replica in that the frame and engine are truly modern. It gets a CSX4000 series VIN (see, they aren't all assigned) but isn't a CSX4000 car.

I'd still like more info on the new frame.

And as far as really racing it, a 800HP engine isn't really a race engine. That much horsepower in this light of a vehicle with the short wheelbase is a death trap. We already know that from Shelby's own experiences with the Super Snakes. In practice I can't think of any time or place where these would be raced.

Frankly, I think the body just standing there is a piece of art and wouldn't mind having one if I had the room to show something like that. I'm not a naked carbon fiber fan (just like I don't care for naked aluminum) but I think this is stunning. It wouldn't do to just sit it in the middle of the living room, it would need to be displayed in a proper "light box"

Because they can? I suspect (1) they are built to order and (2) if the price is too high there will be no orders and the thing will fizzle or they'll lower the price.

This isn't a Shelby American or even the foundation like they did earlier. It's a licensed product. Although it does say to contact Shelby sales, so unlike what I said about the dealer network previously there does appear to be one Cobra you can buy or at least start through Shelby directly. In the end I suspect your check goes to Classic Recreations.

In some ways it's Brilliant on Shelby's part. It's sort of like lending the name to the Elenaors. It's just a simple revenue source. Sign a contract and get a chunk of change to initiate the use of the name, then get a (probably sizeable) chunk of change on every one sold. Not a bad deal for the cost of what is mostly a stock contract that would be something a first year law grad could do in a couple of hours.

I agree with twobjshelbys, he hit the nail on the head. What if they take one to B-J and Criag and Steve give a lecture on it they might sell at least one for over $1m.

Only 10 to be built…..very difficult to imagine 10 of these selling. $1.2M is in the company of a few other amazing classics including original Shelby’s already mentioned. There a number of other modern super cars from McLaren, Lamborghini and Enzos fleet.

Damn, and I've already spent my (Allotted) money on CF cars this year I guess I'll have to pass. The 10 cars will be brought by billionaire's that will call each other, what # did you get? The only time these will be at a track will be for photo op's, with the owner's other pretend race cars in his collection. Sorry, I would much rather a "Real one" in my garage, which I'm sure most of these will share garage space with. Not for us "Potters Field" guys. I believe Shelby already offered a carbon fiber bodied Cobra in their Continuation Series, even they didn’t get $1M for it.
