A longer run from the battery to the starter motor only increases the resistance. On an inductive load, like a starter motor, that's all the more reason NOT to have a fuse on the line. Mostly, I think the original guy that put it on there just didn't know what he was doing and thought it was a smart thing to do. Since you have a pack of fuses there in your glove box, just leave it as is but if you find it blows the fuse from time to time just rip it out.  |
