Not a very good picture. From what I can see not a very accurate chassis. If this picture is of the drivers side looking from front to back. I do not see pedal box. I also do not see outrigers with large holes from the main rails to the rocker area. So tell us some more about this picture.

Appears to have a jag center dif. You should be able to see the pedal box but Im not seeing it.

@PanameraPat, I see your in Washington too. You said, the car is not in your 'city', if it is in Washington, (Seattle/Tacoma Area) I would be happy to put eyes on it for you. The bell housing/scatter shield is different in the 2 pictures. First picture the bottom of it is flat and two bolts spaced wide apart. Second picture shield is round and bolts spaced close together. Maybe pictures of both cars?

Thanks guys! I'll be the first to admit that I enter these forum's with caution. And that I started with a half baked story about the cars and their owner. I'm learning more and more every day, which was my intension.

I did call the shop today and got a few pics (including the one's of the frames that I have posted), along with some addl details about the current status of the cars and their history (or at least what the guys at the shop understand about them).

As suspected, the cars are on lifts, at the back of the shop. So "good pics" are a bit challenging yet. I've sent private messages with a few more photo's to a couple guys on here that seemed pretty knowledgeable and helpful. I'll share more as I learn more.

And thanks for the offer Tom. Once my microwave stops ringing, I'll shoot ya a message.

Ok, I just saw the pics.
100% an AC Autokraft. Body and chassis both, looks to be possibly one of the special order cars that Brian did or modified MKIV with motor likely planted in US as it avoided DOT as a regular MKIV. We all know these are not hard to change if indeed its started as a MKIV. I let the poster know where to look for AK# on frame assuming there is nothing on footbox as the owner has a tall tail to live up to.

There is both MKIV/MKIII charatcer on most of these cars as very few were MKIII alone. More pics I could narrow further but the stories are BS, its not left over 60's AC anything. Sorry.... Its a genuine AC just from 80's, still real just not Shelby connection. I always say that all Shelby's were AC's however not AC's were Shelby's.

Myth busted, its a AC Autokraft roller sent to US with some weird mods on the lights, there were two pictures that show a normal headlamp and one with a mod, not sure which was the most recent?? That will not help the value.

Remember

The AC MKIV frames needed to be beefed up for 1980's DOT, therefore a derivation from MKIII chassis. They are stiffer for sure!
All special orders were taken off the line, therefore they tend to be blends of MKIV and MKIII
Alloy bodies also varied as front snout (for DOT pass) and door angle all were variable in these cars.

The doors in some of these cars still carried the crash beam necessary for importation and other did not.

Certain cars, Trevor Legates, were MKIII exacting but that is the exception.
I have this discussion alot with folks that have special order cars.
As a Friend told me, Brian did anything you wanted as long as you paid. $

Christmas popped? Not sure why that is? I'm interested for sure. Almost best case scenario given that I knew up front they are replica's. If they were untraceable crap, I wouldn't be interested.

Anyway, cat's out of the bag now. The shop did send me pics of the tags, so I'll share AK numbers later when I have time to get back to this. And if you knew the owner and his cryptic stories (which is totally normal for him in discussions of all things), you would understand how some of them may actually track back to connect to some sort of something that makes sense. Brian A didn't actually build these cars, he was just the owner of the joint. That is how this owner thinks, so makes sense why he told me Brian had nothing to do with the build (even though he clearly did). And chassis numbers he said were probably of these four he had built, not the actual AK numbers. It's hard to get a straight answer from this guy, but once you learn the story, it's amazing how you can connect the dots back to something that made sense to him.

Besides, he was there at the factory with the guys and is still alive, so I can probably get some scraps of more stories, which is a big part of what is so fun about these carts. Happy day for me.

Well ol Shelby had 1000 employees too. Angliss had workers yes, was he making bodies himself, no.

Send me email with # or post and I'll give you the history as I have it. Guessing its like 1001, 1275 and 1276 all examples of specials.

Now that said they do sell for decent cash. >$209k
1001 was the highest in recent times but it also had the mag wheel conversion and MKIII body but MKIV interior, even side markers..

These are real AC's again just not Shelby's... Ford MC did not ever make or invest in replcas that went through dealerships. These are an interation forward is all.

I remember AK02 sold in Belgium or Germany for quite a bit, but gosh that was a good while ago and I do not remember the details.
