I’m getting real tired of the Newbie BS.
Tony you asked me to compare my experience with dealing with Ryan to “poking sharp sticks into my eyes”.
Sarcasm is how I took it.
It was a great road-trip. All the Sebring moulds are back in the USA, I own the Cobra hardtop moulds and there’s a good chance all the Cobra moulds will be back too.
You asked me to get back to you. You were wrong.
Ryan says “Boo”.

Hey Tom, is that a Datsun Z, or as the British would say, a Zed car? Cheers, Dennis

Indeed Dennis started life as a 71 240Z, was a race car pretty much it's whole life, (now a Vintage racer) I was just a small part of said life The only time I got bit Sideways @ 100+ @PIR (Portland) my fault not the cars. Chasing a pair 911 Porsche's, a little too much horsepower and a tad too soon will cause what you see here It was best for running down (Ill Driven) 934 Porsche's back in the day, a lowly old Z-car, that cost less than a rebuild on the 934, FUN TIMES Dennis!! Cheers Tom.

The only drama queen here, is you.
Then again, the writing style you exhibit, at least to me, suggests you are 16-18 years old, and the car in your profile is actually your parents. You are then posting the nonsense you have to date to get your mental rocks off.
Sad, but possibly true.

"The Dunning-Kruger effect occurs when a person's lack of knowledge and skills in a certain area cause them to overestimate their own competence."
It's hard to know when a person is experiencing the Dunning-Kruger Effect until after they have exceeded their capability often with tragic consequences. And its hard to convince people whose self confidence has outrun their skill and judgement that they are a hazard to both themselves and others. But many of us older guys have seen it happen often enough to be wary when people brag about adventurous driving experiences on public streets. . . I personally lost a young pilot under my command to this very phenomenon and I'd hate to see it happen to someone else. So for those who feel like some of us older guys are just funless buzz-killers, know that we are far more concerned about your safety and the safety of those around you than we are with inflating your ego. . . . Adventurous driving is fun and I've done a lot of it . . . at the track. I strongly urge you to keep it there.

Naaah, it's more akin to pledging. You know, midnight beer runs, writing papers for you, cleaning up the yard after the midnight madness parties, that sort of thing.

Street raced a 454 70 Nova for play.
We cruised and had a blast.
Cruised in the number 2 dusk blue Dickie Harrell ZL-1 my friend Mike Reiter owned.
We partied in the 70s.

Pledging on the Club Cobra forum?
Give me a break we are grown men.
You know it’s the 30th anniversary of the shutdown of Classic Roadsters 1.
I had picked up phase one on Feb 3 93 and that was kinda bad news.
I’ve been here for over 20 years and this newbie BS is new and wrong.

If ya wire your line locks so you can lock the drivers front brake only you can do donuts with your hands in the air as the car pivots around the tire.
I invented that. Add some flame out the exhaust you got a YouTube video. I’m talking bout the bus.
Can a bus do a donut? I’m going to find out.
Farmtruck and AZNs Green Lizard Prison bus is going down.
At a local drag strip of course. With fire out the loud exhaust.
Party On

I've already had a pretty interesting life, but here one of my build pix and a track video as a bonus. And I still think that people who drive aggressively on public streets are lacking in maturity and judgement.
Track Video

Tommy my comment was not about you.
You treat people with respect.
Some guys have no gallery and jump in on every thread.
We get a new guy and it’s all about running him down.
I didn’t appreciate the disrespect I experienced when I replied on a hard top thread.
Tried to tell me I couldn’t deal with Ryan. He is banned. He was gonna lock me in a cage and eat me up. Something about sharp sticks in my eyes.
Like I’m some kinda punk.
I’d post build pix but right now they would be of the house I’m flipping.
Back to the Cobra soon.
Great looking car, I tell people I got my Classic at Tractor Supply.

What a coincidence, my first car was a 71 240Z! I came late to four tires, I was just short of 21, bought it for the dumbest reason, a girl! She left me when I sold the Z and bought another motorcycle, her loss! Always loved motorcycles, antique airplanes and trucks, more then cars, except the Cobra's that always seem to get away. Cheers, Dennis

New Guy....not beat up yet
Hey I'm a new guy here....mostly a lurker. I have been warmly welcomed but I have to admit I haven't gotten into a pissing contest with anyone. I can tell you I had a really nice phone conversation with Alpha a few months back. Next long layover in Seattle I'm going to look him up. He also offered to get me a Cobra ride in Arizona with some friends of his their.
I used to be paid by Uncle Sam to do some pretty harrowing things with aircraft at night on goggles and very low to the ground....however I was younger and bulletproof back then. Since then I've flown all over the world in a bunch of aircraft as an airline pilot....at the tender age of 54 I decided to get into General Aviation and got into a taildragger capable of landing off airport. Despite my flying experience, I treat this like I'm a newbie....because I am...to this kind of flying. I'm gonna treat my Cobra this way. In my crew brief now, I often tell my first officer....."If you or I get to see how well we can actually fly this airplane, and how good we really are....we're doing something seriously, seriously wrong!"
Its interesting to watch in my old community when some New Guy comes along who regales folks about his flying exploits...because the secret (known only to the old curmudgeons) is that you will never beat the low flying record and live to tell anyone. Most of those braggadocios pilots are actually pretty good once they quit sliding a ruler in their pants....usually because some one came along and told them they were making an ass out of themselves. Their dad probably told them the same thing too....but no man is a prophet in his own house.
Anyway, I'll post pics when I get some. I cheated....got a roller from Unique Automotive and had Susan Parham and Lyle build me an engine. The Weavers and Susan Parham have been an absolute joy to deal with. I was told the body just came out of the paint booth a day or so ago....Its a 289 FIA style and the purists won't like it because it will be in street trim with under car exhaust and a grill....no numbers or stripes (cause I'm neither a race car driver, or pose as one). I plan on driving the ever-loving daylights out of it....gentle, gentle for a long time. If I ever take it to the track....I'm gonna ask for help here and be all ears.
I too have a bike...it's old school kind of ....Springer....I have an old school airplane (Taildragger made of fabric) and now I'll have an old school fun car.
