It’s an Arntz I think.
Looking closer it doesn’t look like a Mustang 2 front.
Dean Morrison went to Everett in 1983 with his Cobra moulds and Cheetah tooling and the Everett-Morrison Cobra was created.
There is a Allied Fun Buggy ad that lists Cobra body’s for $150, but they folded in 1983.
The Allied Plan A Cobra ad has the Arntz Plan A drawing.
I called Moores Auto Repair in Michigan City and he said 40 years ago Allied made Cobras in a building next to him but it’s gone now. 800 Chicago St.
What would an Arntz chassis with suspension do on BaT?
How is Dean Morrison related to Robert Morrison (Molded Fiber Glass Companies) who made the first Corvette body’s for Chevy?

It does look like MGB front suspension like in the diagram in the link below.

Thanks for your input, I agree, does not look like Mustang 2 front suspension, it does look like MGB, which in the Allied materials I have seen is not what they were using. I have no intention of reselling. I have been wanting to build a Cobra since I was a kid. I don't have any of the skills needed to build a body, however. To me that is the big limiting factor here....

That’s Bennett Coachworks, Bob Bennett was Arntz engineer and built the first Excaliburs too. It’s funny rite, one of Bobs chassis sitting on a shipping container way in the future.
They gotta smile.
I called him about the Classic Roadsters top fitting on a Excalibur and we got to talking about early Cobra companies.
He said after Arntz turned into Butler everybody was copying the designs.
A VW powered Cobra? It’s no wonder why Shelby sued.
Our old friend Ryan said the Classic Roadsters body will fit on the 94 1/2” wheelbase VW chassis and was designed that way.
There’s a guy with a body somewhere looking for you.

I looked at in person and I do believe it is Allied, Arntz, or Butler. It is clear that someone has been welding on it other than whoever originally built it. The front section of the frame forward of the radiator appears to have been cut off and welded back on, poorly. The area where the roll bar mounts has the same poor welds. That and the fact that there is no body (accident?) makes it a pass for me unless it was priced around what the value of the Jaguar differential unit was.

Looks like a Arntz/Butler but no X frame brace? Maybe it was modified or it is a knockoff ? Not familiar with Allied but maybe a Bennett?

Maybe they changed the frame design over the years, but mine is a fair amount different than that one. I have no idea what they did in the front as the MGB suspension bolts in place. That looks to be a cobbled mess. Also, the area behind the seats is different. They have some metal plates in there. Mine has none of that. The bracing is different s well as the engine mounting.

Dean Morrison’s Allied Cobra and the Arntz Cobra have no connection.
Dean is not related to Robert Morrison who made the first Corvette body’s.

Dean built Cobras in Tampa in the late 1970’s and made the Allied Cobras in Michigan City with body bucks he brought with him from Florida starting April 82.

He sold the bucks and Cheetah tooling he had also acquired to Everett in 1983.
E-M still has and uses the body bucks Dean used at Allied.

I think Dean just used the 1980 Arntz Plan A drawing in Allied ad linked above because it was easy and if that’s what you did who was going to stop you.

Tom at E-M said the whereabouts of Dean are unknown.

It has has been modified at the front rails ahead of the radiator and also on the roll bar mount. Was either modified and/or repaired from accident damage. I did not see any evidence of the x frame bracing ever having been there. And considering how bad the welds were where the frame was modified I think there would have been.

For the record the seller was honest and sent me photos of the areas that were of concern.
