Back when I was in high school we had a history teacher and he brought in some "Swing Era" music. I loved it. About that time Time/Life made a series out of it. They couldn't make cds work slthough they did release 1 of glen Miller. We listen to it on road trips

Funny, my first memories of music were my Moms Big Band Swing albums. She was born in 27 and my dad was born in 23, (yes, a 100 years ago,) he was a WWII veteran. She played them on a big Magnavox console, pore record player saw everything from Elvis, The Beatles, through Janus Joplin and even Jimi Hendrix! I was reintroduced to Swing during the late 70s through late 90s, when I was working on and flying WWII planes, and did a lot of air shows. During the shows, it would be on the PA and at night there would sometimes be live bands, some new, some reconstituted, like Glen Miller and Less Brown And His Band Of Renown! Now, I sometimes listen to the 40s channel on satellite radio. Brings back some great memories! The video below is a little grannie, but what a great song and great planes! That sounds quite familiar to me with my own FIA build, Doug. Sorry to hear that you're selling. You're a friend of a friend, and from memory you supplied me with some build details several times.

Good luck with the sale. I am quite sure you won't have any trouble finding a new custodian for your ERA.

Best wishes,
Glen

XB-60: I'm glad I was able to provide some help with your questions while you were building. I received a lot of help from the crew here and that brotherhood is what makes it all work and worthwhile. Cheers, Doug

ALL: ERA 2108 has now been sold.

If I may answer that for Doug, he had to deal with (Alfa02) We tried every which way, to make it work, but with the "Deep Purple" Cobra not sold yet, and without borrowing some money (Which I said I would never do again, and being "Debt Free") So you can blame it on ME!!! Thank you, Tim (tkb289) Karl (KarloZZE) Bill S. (Mr Mustang) for your ideas and comments. And Doug for being so great to deal with. As Tim said it came up 2-years to soon Cheers Tom.

It’s all good, Tom. I’m hoping you’ll make it down and we can get a crew of Cobraphiles together to talk shop, eat burgers and drink beer- or enchiladas and Mojitos. I’m more of a cocktail guy.

From my perspective the Cobra sold quickly, and shipped out fast on Friday evening. My wife started crying when she saw the empty space in the garage. Researching, buying, building and driving that fine Machine defined my spare time since the 2000 Monterey Historic Auto Races. Few people get the privilege to have this life experience and I consider myself lucky to have had it.

My wife is now sending me pictures of Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII’s for sale.

There are very few cars which could fill the gap the Cobra has left behind. This may take a while.

Cheers Mates!
Doug

C8 Corvette. More powerful, faster, quicker, better handling, better braking, better riding, better MPG.

All that being said, it would be a helluva ride but won't have the visceral "world coming to an end" feeling that a Cobra does.

That's what I did. 603 HP. Dog gets in easy. Handles an stops on a dime. It was just time to move on. Wasn't using the car. Oh... Old age didn't help
