Default Ball is rolling

Hi everybody.
Some of you have seen all my posts recently asking tons of questions before starting a project.
Well the ball is now rolling, I took the decision to go with a scratchbuilt chassis from Chuck Dalquist drawings.
For reasons given by experienced owner I have decide to go with fiberglass body.
My plan is to probably make all openings in alloy. Doors, hood and maybe trunk lid too.

I've already purchased a 1964 289 engine to star with. It will be built as close as possible to stock 289 HIPO with cast iron intake. And a generator.

I also purchased a Ford 8.8 IRS diff from a explorer which I prefer the front bushings compared to the Mustang unit.

Also purchasing a fully rebuilt T5.

I will post pics as the project move.
But a LOT MORE questions to come.
I don't know how SLOW the project will be but I know slower than I think 😁

There is a scratch build sub forum here. I suggest you post this over there. A mod might be able to move this one...

Keep us posted on your progress.

Canada brings a lot of unique requirements. It'll be interesting to see what has to be done differently.

Have fun!

PS. Please update your profile.

Nothing will be different from now.
I just bypassed the system by building my owm chassis.
I now have nothing to do with TRANSPORT CANADA because I'm not importing a kit.
I'm now dealing only with provincial rules which I would have to do anyway with a starter kit.

A lot of things have motivated my choice.

Fiberglass is a good choice. Aluminum is so fragile. If you're having the body built consider carbon fiber. Not the ultra lite baked. Mine was cf fabric in the fiberglass resin. More pricey but stronger than straight fg
