La Canada is under threat. How will Lynn Park move 20 plus cars?

Hopes and prayers for those and their families affected by the firestorm! Unfortunately, in losing everything they are only through half of the hell at this point... insurance is the other half. Those leaches are nothing but trouble. Insurance is the biggest scam perpetrated on the public. It should be a nonprofit industry and not pray on people's misfortune. Ask me how I know!

I exchanged emails with Drew Serb and asked him if he had heard from Lynn Park. He replied that the fire got close, but changed directions away from Lynn's house and that all was well at that time. A blessing so far.

A couple of years, a real csx owner asked Jay Leno to store store his car due to closeby fires. He did a show with it.
I hope Jay's place is ok. So much history in his garage.

Thinking of your guys. We in Oz know what bushfires can be like with our own dangers every summer but this is exceptionally bad.
Stay safe

God I hope he stays safe. Aside from the cars his whole place is a shrine for Shelby Cobra with tons of irreplaceable memorabilia

This X 100!
I've witnessed some real devastation from hurricanes in my lifetime, but this destruction just boggles the mind. I really feel for the people losing their homes and possessions to the fires, while the insurance company execs are all in a huddle to figure how they can protect their precious profits and avoid paying out desperately-needed claims.

Some of these insurance companies will not have enough reserves to pay out their claims. They will have re-insurance which is insurance insurance companies buy. Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance is one of the largest.
Many companies anticipated the loss risk and stopped selling in CA... The number I saw today was a snapshot in time early this morning but at $20B+. It'll only get bigger...

Hi Tony. As long as they pay out on the policies they've been selling and collecting premiums on for decades on end. If they have to resort to drawing on their own insurance policies in extraordinary circumstances like this disaster, then so be it.
The ongoing trend of insurance company CEO's pulling multi-million dollar salaries and annual profit-based performance bonuses while using every loophole, roadblock and delay tactic at their disposal to reduce "losses" from legitimate payouts is what is wearing thin on people. It's leading to questions about the inherent conflict of interests in profit-driven insurance providers.

I don't disagree. My dad said if you want to be rich be a banker or an insurance company. They never lose money (there are exceptions, but usually bad management; you can ruin anything even scrambled eggs.)
Did you know that one of the largest flood insurance underwriters is Lloyds of London. Several people in our town had them in the flood of 2013 and they got a full payout within days after the adjusters were allowed to enter town.

Hopefully Lynn and the "Family" people & cars are safe, don't want to call right now, I sure he has enough going on, if I hear from him, I let everyone know.
Our Prayers are with all the people in the fire area, not just the car guys
It's not often you see reporters that know what they are talking about, this lady may be the exception, she did say the cameraman is a car guy too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5Fw7VlOy4s

This is a natural disaster..... all the finger pointing is bull krap.... the social media is an example of stupidity..... those morons don't know a red flag day from a birthday .....
A fire in these conditions cannot be controlled and now the winds are starting up again.....
I live in a fire dangerous area and when the risk is high, I take my motorhome and leave before there is a order and the resultant traffic jam...... and yes I spent several years as a fire fighter and was a Incident Commander (Fire Boss) on much smaller local fires....

Lived in CA all my 7 decades...Until
We escaped to a red state going on two years ago. Having worked in heavy marine construction out there, all the controversy over the Delta Smelt is 110% true. That along with the salt marsh harvest Moure, the giant garter snake, the elderberry beetle, the clapper rail, and many more that i can't think of, you are totally hobbled in doing anything remotely related to Forrest management.
I recall one of the power companies wanting to clear a corridor around power lines and they were DENIED because of some creature or another residing there. OK so we MIGHT disturb or even kill a few of these, but what happens when the ENTIRE forrest burns? Well thats not our concern...Environmentalist logic. Regarding the water flow, they want the river temperatures to be below come threshold for the fish, so they flow enough to keep the temp. down. What happens when the water runs out? Thats not our concern...

It was just a matter of time before some tool would come in here to pitch their past grievances once again that they just can't seem to let go. We all know that it's all about you and not about the victims, their families and their pets.

Lynn and family have been reported elsewhere as "safe at this time".
Of course that was three days ago.
