DV Land, Hawaii Style!
I'm "vacationing" in Ohio and one of the top priorities was to meet DV and check out the "shop"! Dusty, my son, his Mom and a dear friend of ours (out from Claif.) took the back roads from Cincinnati to London and we enjoyed the scenery and farm lands along the way. Beautiful! We stopped at the Hardware Store in London, wow, a REAL hardware store! We only have "replicas" in Hawaii you know. I was getting "chicken skin" (goose bumps) as we approached the shop. And there it was! WOW, surrounded by a corn field, a field of Cobra dreams to be sure! Even the ladies were excited and a great time was had by all. Thanks DV for giving us a first rate tour and making us feel so welcome!
What a special place, Hawaii hasn't got ANYTHING on you guys! I look forward to visting again.

Ernie - it's a special place isn't it!!! When I think of workshops that turn out truly unique, national level vehicles - it's hard to imagine that a shed on a farm in Ohio would be up there with the best of them. Of course, I don't think that the likes of Bobby Alloway or Boyd Coddington would be so willing to sacrifice as much of their time and energy on non-profit events such as the Fling...
Sooooo, did you order a Ford or Viper powered car???

Bill,,,,I keep hearing that rumor and I'm sure it's true. I have a "lead" and am trying to be diplomatic at following up on it. If you have any suggestions please e-mail me! I would LOVE to actually track one down! You know how hard Snake Hunting can be and even replica sightings are few and far between.

Ernie probably picked December to go to Ohio because all the normal people there are in Hawaii. Ernie you need to buy another Cobra maybe from DV and then wait until next December and drive it to Oakland to ship to the islands. Think of the great pictures you could get in the mountains and snow on the trip back West. There was a good article a few years ago in one of the Kit Car magazines about a guy from Hawaii having a Cobra built back East and driving it through rain, snow, freezing weather and finally getting it to Oakland. And some great pictures of it in the Grand Teaton Mountains with the snow all around. No top either. He did say that one morning he had to borrow an ice pick from the motel he stayed at to chip the ice off the steering wheel so he could grip it to drive. That is either dedicated Cobra driving or something less.

Ha ha,,,,OK,,,,,it was a "family" thing. Man, a guy can't put anything over on you guys. I have indeed considered how I would get a Cobra from Ohio to Hawaii. There is another option, move to Ohio! Wide open spaces, lots of room to cruise. Uh,,,,,I'm really gonna need a hardtop, man is it COLD here!

Real Cobra's in Hawaii?
Ernie,
I won't disclose the exact whereabouts, but an owner on the south side of the island has a CSX2000 and 3000 series Cobra sitting in his garage. Last thing I heard, is that he is not interested in selling either of them...so they continue to sit in his garage. The others I hear about continue to be rumors, but you never know. Lots of wealthy people in Hawaii!

Bill,,,,,yup, those are the two I heard about. I'm working out the diplomacy factor. A photo shoot for the Club would be cool.
