Like a coiled snake, this car scared the world's racing elite and made Carrol Shelby a household name. After becoming the second American driver to win at LeMans, Shelby's failing heart forced him out of racing in 1959; but that didn't stop him from looking for a way to stay in the sport. The result was the fastest production car ever produced. We'll see how Shelby's Cobra and its offshoots won countless races, vaulting Shelby into the stratosphere of automotive legend.

just to be clear, I visited the history channel's site and ultimate autos will be played twice on January 7th, first at 10am eastern time and again at 4pm. it isn't clear what time zone they are posting these times but in other features listed, the time is displayed as a x:00/x-1:00c so I think the times I state are correct.


will have the tape ready to go, thanks for the heads up, I would surely have missed this!
