I've never heard of a scam like this. What a shame for the Cobra owner. I hope they find this guy.

That's just a damn shame. That's a new scam that I haven't run across yet, and I've heard lots of them. I wonder if the VIN for the 'Vette matched the VIN on the fake title. Hopefully they can find the legitimate owner of the 'Vette and find out info through that person.

There are a few things to take from this unfortunate event....
1. "Never" "advertise" "with" so "many" " " " "
2. Never trade a Cobra on a Vette
3. Beware of anyone from Joisey
Seriously - over here we can make a telephone call and based on the VIN number, we can be notified instantly of any encumberances. Theft, flood damage, previous write-off, etc. Doesn't CarFax offer the same service over there?

That's a shame, that scam has been running in Atlanta for over a year. The local cops busted a ring using the scam last year. They were locating their victims in the Auto Trader.

No surprise why the Sopranos is all about Jersey and our fine upstanding citizens.
When you got 10 million cramed into a state as large as a small Texas ranch you are bound to find a few bad guys.
Pretty soon, I'm outta here.

John - I think listening to Meryl Streep try to put on her best Aussie Accent was more tormenting than any baby being attacked by a dingo.... Besides, the religious looney mother killed the baby anyway!
Ooops, does that mean that there are some bad people in Australia after all....
In an interesting coincidence, a new forum member from another forum has introduced himself by saying that he wants to get rid of his 99 Vette to buy a Cobra! I wonder what State's registration label is affixed to his windshield?!? No implications, of course!
