Thumbs up This is a great Place!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who participates and posts here.

Over the last few weeks I think I have read just about every post on these boards and have found this group to be about the most helpful and informative bunch I have ever come across.

Also wanted to thank everyone who returned my emails, as well as a few who spent time on the phone with me answering all of my questions.

With that being said, decision was made, check cut and SPF# 1526 is sitting at Hilbank and should be going over to HOC for engine and tranny next week.

Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the years ahead.

Mike

Thank you for making me feel right at home.

ST - I'll pop you an email - definitely look forward to meeting other cobra owners here in town.

Do any of the other local guys race here in Vegas or maybe down at Willow Springs? That's my ultimate goal - can't wait to get the car out on a track to see what I can do with it.

MikeK, Congratulations on your upcoming purchase; you will be having more fun than you thought was possible, and people will be beginning to wonder while you are smiling ALL the time!!! Just remember to make sure the front wheels are straight when you "get on it", or else you will see "headlites-taillites-headlites-taillites" before you can react! These cars should be WILD od the track, I cant wait to go to "Cobra University" at Willow Springs and see what she can do!! Edley

Welcome to the club, Mike,

I was in your town last week. If you happen to pass by the Orlean's Casino, say "HI" to my money!

RallySnake - maybe that should read - "Welcome to Club Mike"... I'm bored and sitting at home with the flu while the Cobra guys are at the local dragstrip. This gave me time to look over the member list to find there are 84 guys with the user name of Mike.

Hey, I can come up with all sorts of useless trivia...

Mike, if you happen to pass by the Bellagio to be confronted by three gorgeous girls that want $600- for an hour, oh nevermind!

Congrats on your SPF. They make an incredible car, and they really stood out as a quality product at last year's Fling. Hope to see you in Ohio in June. Got any photos of that motor???

Edley - I was thinking about going down to Cobra Univ - this spring sometime - hear it's a blast. Also heard it's more of an "intro" rather than a serious racing class though. I've been out at the LV speedway a few times at the Petty School - it was fun but the cars are so "sticky" - after the first lap or so - you soon realize that the car isn't going anywhere on you - it feels more like a video game - Cobra should be much more of a "ride".

Understand "headlites-taillites" real well. First car I ever owned was a 66 Mustang Coupe - blew the 289, got a worked 351c for free (friend had a little accident) so we shoved that into it.

BTW- at 17 yr old - method for makind engine fit was by banging in shock towers with a hammer...

Car was quick - problem was that it was so front heavy that I couldn't go around a corner without spinning out if I even touched on the gas peddle - again solution at that age was to load the trunk with concrete blocks...

I have a feeling that this should be a similar type of ride - at least I hope so!

Was also thinking of going down to the Bondurant school down in AZ - for a 3 or 4 day class. General opinion seems to be that's it's the better school to go to.

But I'm up for cobra U. - do you know what the spring schecdule is like?

Can't wait to get the car - HOC should have the build done around the first week of Feb.

Since I don't have the car yet - I don't have a picture of mine - but here is picture of one they built for another customer - mine should look the same.

Blackjack,

I agree with *all* of your comments. Most of the questions I was trying to find answers to had to do with choice of engine and set up. After going through a good many posts on the subject - I finally decided it might be easier to email members individually with my questions.

Seems anytime anyone asks a question - (especially about sb's) a raging debate develops - was afraid I might end up having to go through 20+ posts/replys to see if anyone actually answered the original question...

750HP,

Hope you are feeling better - that was one miserable Flu bug going around this year. Took me two weeks to get over it last month.

RE: the AC compressor - it does look like one in the photo - again that isn't my engine but another one with the hilborn. I had asked them for some suggestions on the air cleaners - I wanted something different.

I like the way the two look side by side - thought maybe a little narrower for more definition and so that you could see down between them - also saw another set up that I liked - had four air cleaners - one pair per side - in-line.

A/C would definitley be a plus where I am - triple digit temps from June through August - but in the summer - it will be too damned hot to drive a cobra anyway. So no a/c going in mine.

Mike
