Default 460 ATI (PROCHARGER) supercharger HELP!!!!!

I need help getting ATI (Procharger) to get motivated on there 460 supercharger program, they keep putting it off because somehow they don't think there is enough demand. Even with friends working there and me bothering them for 3 years, it is still not enough....

Let's look at the facts:

1. Think of how many 429/460 engines are in Cobra's and think of how little room there is for a "roots style" blower, answer Procharger...

2. Think of how many 429/460 engines that are in Cobra's that the owner thought his 485 - 535 horsepower engine was enough, but then he decided he wants more power. Does he put on Nitrous? How about buying a complete new engine? How about rebuilding the engine? Wouldn't it be easier to just get a supercharger?

3. Think of how many 460 Ford trucks are running around...

4. If you go to the drag strip you will see 460 engines in everthing from Ford Fairmont's, Mustang's, Torino's, Lightning pickup trucks, Cobra's, and so on...

PLEASE HELP, CALL (ATI) PROCHARGER AT 913-338-2886 OR GO TO WWW.PROCHARGER.COM AND PLEASE TELL THEM WE NEED A SUPERCHARGER FOR THE 429/460/514/ETC... ENGINE FAMILY...

Thank-You!

I currently have an ATI procharger that was purchased to run on a FI 302 but we made a bracket for the 351w and bought a carb hat. Isn't that all that would be necessary for a 429 install? A bracket for the blower and a lower pulley should be all you need. I would think a good machinist would be able to fab a bracket.

Don,

You are totally correct, however there is so many 429/460 engines out there it makes no sense for ATI not to provide a supercharger for the 460 engine. They have superchargers for Dodge and Chevrolet trucks (454 engine), why not the 460 engine. I would like to do a procharger setup where the intercooler is in place of the oil cooler.

If they make a kit specifically for the Ford Trucks, you won't need their kit....
You wouldn't need any of the fuel system parts, or any of the intercooler piping, maybe not even the intercooler. Probably not the blower belt, or idler pulleys.

All you need are the brackets. Make them out of 1/2" wood from the hardware store. When you're happy that everything lines up, get someone to cut up a 1/2" alum sheet, and turn up some spacers to bolt the bracket to your head/water pump/block.

Your intercooler piping needs to totally custom made anyway.

This is how my 1/2" alum brackets ended up. They don't flex, and I put the blower EXACTLY where it needed to be. I don't think you'd be lucky enough for any mass produced kit to fit in the first place.

Craig, here are some photos of my friend's cobra I was telling you about last year. First he built the car as a high compression 12:1, Richmond 5 speed, solid rear axle car. Maybe 550-575hp. After driving it for a while he got bored and decided to redo the whole thing. This time he punched the block .125 over, dropped the compression to 9:1, mounted a Vortech SQ S/C and redid all the suspension to run an automatic, 35 spline rear axles/locker, etc. Last I spoke with him he was still sorting the car and was experiencing fuel starvation problems so he was preparing to swap in an Aeromotive pump. I think he told me the engine laid down around 700 hp running 8 lbs of boost and he intends to run around 14 psi when it's completed. Anyway, here's a link to some photos I took of his car before he completed it:

Check out page 4 for the pics of his engine setup. I also thought BANDIT might get some good ideas from Chappy's setup...
