Original Cobras For Sale
In the latest Snakebite Bulletin there were a number of original cars for sale. A number of them by the same owner. Here is a list:
CSX 2273--Independent Comp Car. Undistinguished history.
CSX 2456--ex Kingston Trio, Paul Shane car.
CSX 2484--under resto by McCluskey
CSX 2608--McCluskey Daytona. I think this is the one that was on
Ebay, being offered by someone in Japan.
CSX 3006--ex Bondurant. Reputedly 1 of 19 original Comp Cars.
CSX 3237--original street car (no roll bar, scoop, or side exhaust)
McCluskey resto.--$350,000
CSX 3299--stored for 30 years; same owner for 34 yrs.

Cal, that's quite a list. Was there only one with the selling price disclosed?

Craig:
Yes, there was only one car that had a price listed.
Turk:
Mind is willing; checkbook is not.
Stush:
Thanks for the price update. That is pretty heady--$695,000.

This thread is much like a whiff of Nitrous Oxide
Gets ya really high for a short time, but then it wears off quickly when the reality of price sinks in

BlackJack:
No need to worry. CSX sits in a corner of my shop with God knows what sitting on the tarp (lawn chairs, picnic coolers, a couple of boxes of magazines, and a few posters which I have yet to nail to the wall. Oh yeah....the Sawzall and some Xmas lights fit right between the large roll bar.
It would take a couple of days to get things cleared out; thankfully, I don't have that much motivation.

Has anyone ever really met Phil Andrews? I went to the address in Moorestown NJ, and it was an insurance office in the downtown area - - no garage in sight.
Just wondered.
I think I remember someone saying he acutally lives up in New England somewhere.
Curious minds want to know...

It's amazing that someone stores a 575k car next to all the crap in their garage. It probably has cat footprints across the hood!

Ernie:
A lot of these cars are over priced and I think some are just fishing or trying to "paint the tape" for Barrett Jackson. If you look, you can find something that is good and solid and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Well, now that you mentioned it...
Steve-
The rivet count and placement on the scoop are correctly in line with early Comp cars...
However...the hood rivets are an interesting 9-1-9 pattern.

Hey Bill,
If you do drive down and need a passenger, let me know.
I'm always up for drooling over automobiles.
