Question Has anyone used "Tuff Deck" (race deck) ???

I'v seen the ad for "Tuff Deck", has anyone tried it yet for garages ? I'm looking at the Race Deck product. I will call Monday to check the cost. Untill this, I was looking at using vct (composite) tile.
Thanks,
kevin

I wasalso thinking about it as i near completion of my garage, but am concerned about durability with things like 3-ton floor jacks and the like!

Big Bob Evans who is a major contributor to this forum is a distributor for Tuff Deck. Give him an email.

I'll call tomorrow & let you guys know the prices I get.
As far as the stands doing damage. What ever product I end up using either, epoxy, vct (composite) tile, or this Tuff Deck, I plan on protecting the floor with plywood or rubber pads, ect..... anyway.

Cal-

What is "Bob Evans" email or user name? I looked in "find members" under his name with no luck
Thanks

I have had race deck flooring in my garage for well over a year. I have a KWIK-LIFT setting on it and have used both floor jacks and jack stands with no problem. Only thing that I would do differently is to leave a little more space between the floor and the walls. In Houston it gets hot and the decking expands and buckles a little.... no problem but a little space around the edges would eliminate it. Also got guotes and ordering directly from race deck as they were a little cheaper.

Sounds like it's tuff. The ad says a 10 year warranty. I just have a single garage for my cobra, what was the bill for yours ? The total job or what is the price per sq. ft ? How is the color wearing, any fading, gouges, deep scratches, is the top color all the way through, any problems un-locking or moving while driving on it ect....? Ya know, need all the poop !
Thanks,
kev

color goes all the way through... so far no problems... spills wipe right up and it cleans up easily with a wet mop....so far no dents, cracks or stains... also it is stable even though it isn't bonded to the floor.... as for price... i have a 2 car garage with a work space.. about 400 sq ft (i think)... total cost with trim pieces and freight was around $1600 if i remember accurately... as for the choice of suppliers... the quote directly from the manufacturer was the cheapest

I got a quote of $3.00 per square foot from EasyDeck a couple of months ago. They are the Northern California distributer for Racedeck. That was based on an order of 1000 square feet and did not include delivery. They are close enough that I could go pick it up. I was told it is tougher than concrete and jack stands etc. would not hurt it. My only concern would be liquids sitting under it and not evaporating. The good part is that I wouldn't need to clean the existing stain (that has failed). I also wouldn't have to pull out all the cabinets I have installed and leave the cars sitting out for several days waiting for epoxy to set up.

Have fun, Ray

Well, if my number crunching is correct, my sq. ft. = 288 x $3.00 per square = $865 + shipping ! Hum....? that's is over twice the amount for composite tile but, I sure it would out last the tile !

I am the SoCal distributor for RaceDeck products and can sell almost anywhere. I sell twice as much as any other dealer and can offer Club Cobra members a discount, so if you want a quote on RaceDeck, call me toll free at 866 789 5927 and let me know up front that you are a member and I can give you a deal. I also owned a company that installed very high end floor coatings ($15 sq/ft) and can tell you every problem that you will encounter with epoxy's

By the way, the President of RaceDeck sold his Cobra to buy a Viper, so you can either deal with a fellow Cobra owner (me),...or you can deal with some guy who dumped his Cobra and bought a Viper!!

Ok guys, here's the scoop on using the Race Deck for my garage. I talked with Bob Evans this morning. Great guy to work with I may add ! My garage is 24'x12' With the tile & edging the cost would be $ 882.00 ($3.00 sq. ft.) (as a compairison, I've seen it in other ads for $4.25 sq. ft.) That's with FREE shipping to my door. Bob said that it's free to all of us on club cobra ! Great guy eah !
I don't know if it's in my budget but, I'm going to try. I think it's the best product to use. I checked on the vct. (composite tile) it's .96 cents per sq. ft. A lot cheaper but, the prep. work is hard & expensive, tougher, plus I'm sure it won't last near.....as long !
In the long run & the price, Tuff Deck, in my opinon, is the way to go. I think the phase..." you get what you pay for" applies here !
Thanks,
Kevin
