It's alive......FINALLY!!!!!!
Well, as of 12 noon EST today, my Contemporary 289FIA roared to life thanks to the persistence of Dr. Crankenstein.
Had it not been for my good friend Roger Davis (Cranky), I:
- never would have gotten the motor running.
- never would have realized I had the fuel pump lines on backwards
- never would have figured out the electrical problems.
By continually being a pain in the ass and devoting a lot of his own precious time to helping me out, I nwould have let this Contepmorary linger unfinished in my garage.
THANKS FOR BEING SUCH AN ORNERY OLD COOT CRANKY!!!!!!
So, the drive line is done, the motor sounded real healthy today and I just need to drop the body on and finish up some odds and ends.
Looks like I'll make it to DVSF.
Looks like I'll break in McFIA at Beaver Run.
Looks like the Crankoids will terrorize the town od Dublin.
I'll let everyone know when I have the body drop on party.
JM

Congrats, Johnny Mac! Better get that thing on a track, body or no, or face the wrath of Cranky now that she's running.
It's a long road getting this stuff running. There's nothing like having a friend or two to point out your errors and goad you into staying after it.
Please do post some pics when you get a chance.

McJpegs??? McButt???? Pictures????
The last set of pics I posted were about the most updated I have. The car still looks the same, in two pieces, I just managed to fire it up.
...now if folks are looking for proof that its running, just come to Beaver Run before the Spring Fling...and bring your camera, so you can get a pic of me as I pass you.
Actually, I'll probably run open pipes at Beaver Run, but with the BFG street tires, so I don't go crazy redlining the motor first time out.
Thanks for the responses. Look for the Crankoids at the Fling....we'll be the ones with tire splooge and brake dust all over our cars. We'll be parked next to Evan's velvet roped Shelby.
