Latest Pics in my photo gallery !
She was cleaned up and the sun was shining here in Western Washington state yesterday. Took her out for a few short runs, to drop off the hardtop for the rear window install, and including a ride for one lady I had only met once before, (who my buddy and I met at the post office,.. She said it was the ride of her life ) Left him there for 5 minutes while we wa-hooed a bit around the block
Got 6 thumbs up, lots of "cool car, man!" and 30+ gawkers while she was parked. I met people who never would have noticed me without the cobra
My next door neighbor, on his run with me, says "It's gonna be a chick magnet, and 'can I borrow it ?' ".

BiB - good to see you pleased at last. Now get some miles under those wheels - it will look all the better for a few stone chips. It's called patina.
Now - one thing you could help me with. Maybe I missed you answering this question some time ago, or maybe I am just the first one dumbfool enough to ask...... why "Poisson"?????????

Nice pictures and the color looks completely different in the daylight. One thing... maybe it's just light reflected in the paint on the door ... but does your car have exterior door handles on the doors?

Petek: Has door handles inside and out
And yes, dscott, the stress is vanishing quickly
Wilf: As to the plates, the car is a poison snake.. and it sounded more "hissy" with the extra "S"
Besides, POISON wassssss taken
Back to the rain today, but spring/summer is coming soon

BiB,
Fantastic. That car is just really super and the last pictures with it outside are fantastic. I hope that your weather stays nice so you can start enjoying it right now. I bet the stress has gone down a lot now. Congratulations !!!

Welllll...........I can see your logic there BiB, but I can't see what a fish has to do with a snake, with or without extra "hiss", and unfortunately that's what "poisson" means in French!!
Anyhows - it's your car, you can call it whatever you choose. I am just glad you got it at last. The saga has been, well, entertaining.
I should lay off that poison though if I were you.

Here in the states , French is considered, at best, a cute language for the idle rich, and at worst, kinda sissy. No one will know
But if some cute French speaking girl does ask, it could be fun explaining

B-in-B! What can I say?
Bases loaded....it's....outta the Park!
Well, if there ever was truth to the old adage "well worth the wait"---yah cah is IT! I'm leaning toward that color---a tad more "eggplant" for an upcoming project (shall we say). I am presently awaiting the delivery of Jamo's "old" car---as we all know, he's gone hunting his "Coors-Can Special" (that decals are in the works, Ron, so you can campaign it "de rigeur" when it comes to Monterey/Pebble Beach!)
I spent a week tooling through the hills and 101 in the S/B-Ventura area, before leaving the "one with significant engine set-back" with Butler hisself, to tweak shock settings, etc. I told Ron Bar. that it felt as if I'd held my face over a bucket of vinegar, my smile-muscles were so calcified!
B-in-B, your car is just dazzling. Things I really like are the dash set-up and the stance (?). What tires are you running? Any way..........Congratulations! A triumph of will over waiting!

Fred, that's exactly how I feel..
I have a tin sign on the garage wall... Babe Ruth advertisement for Red Rock Cola... and it's a Home Run !
Today...running down some baffled rubber grommets and PCV valve stuff for the 514... clock ticking till spring
The wheels are Billet Specialties rebels, 17 inch size, the tires are the very expensive Pirelli P-Zero tires, in 10 inch fronts, 11.5 inch rears. These are the tires specifically designed for the Ferrari 456.. they are said to be somewhat soft, but the grip is awesome, the handling is great, and the Carrera coil overs are not even dialed in yet !
Hope you "get reptilian" soon !

Beautiful BinB--good stance!
Course--it should have a small coat of arms where them Shelby tags normally go.

Congradualtions! I must admit - your car gives a fresh new light on the West Coast product line. Your choices of paint, wheels, and interior give your car a great look. I am sure it drives even better.

Jamo.. how about this for a badge/coat of arms ?
The Thumbs up ! ?
HIQ, yes, points such as the relative roominess of the cockpit, plus the reality and beauty and are overcoming the slow production wait for this car... in fairness, Vern did stay and work 16 to 18 hours on her, to satisfy my requirements.. we (both of us) were working till 4:00 AM !
The remaining work is:
The hardtop rear window is being installed right now
The Throwout bearing o rings need replacement, asap
The steering column covers are unsatisfactory, will have something made up, but I am going to cover it with a laced black leather sleeve, for now.
I am gathering a PCV system so as to avoid the small oil dribble out of the breather caps.
And the cockpit mouldings are being done right now also.
But the basic cobra seems to be exactly what I wanted... mucho power and great handling too . Even the cops dig her

Bib,
When you check your trany's input shaft length with the wooden dowel, measure three distances: all the way into the pilot budhing, the face of the pilot bushing, and the face of the clutch disk's splines (relative to the scattershield) Compare those lengths to the tranny's input shaft. making sure nothing is getting to deep.
